Everyday is something new. Now what are they gonna do?

Do you ever read the links you post? :unimpressed:

The data for the study was collected from June 6 through early July, according to officials from Israel’s Health Ministry. The data and the methodology of the study was not released, according to the Journal.

Some health experts expressed skepticism about the Israel study, saying mRNA vaccines like Pfizer have been shown to offer strong protection against COVID-19 infection.

And this isn't the first time Israel has been wrong about the vaccines:

The Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine Is Less Effective Against The South African And UK Variants Than Against The Original Virus, According To A New “Real-World” Study From Israel

What's up with the misleading headlines though? The media needs to stop playing games with that BS.

That's because journalists are not really well versed enough in the life sciences to report findings from scientific studies. That's further compounded by the fact that scientists are horrible at explaining their research to the general public because they're used to talking to their colleagues.

Neil Degrasse Tyson and Anthony Fauci are some of the best at conveying complicated subjects to the general public but even the latter gets shat on for his message.

Back to the media though, you just got to read the sciemtific papers they are referencing. At least check the "findings" and the "discussion" sections

They never will because it's their job to generate clicks.

And for the record, they aren't even updating their play book.

Back in early April, Israel released a non-peer reviewed, non-published report that said the vaccines aren't as effective against the South African/UK variants.

Non-peer reviewed info is #1 not for public consumption and #2 not meant to be used in any official capacity. It's basically a glorified theory.

It didn't stop the media from running with it, though:

The Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine Is Less Effective Against The South African And UK Variants Than Against The Original Virus, According To A New “Real-World” Study From Israel

Which is literally, exactly, what this is. Again. The Tweet you posted is from another unpublished survey from Israel.

The state of Missouri has seen the highest number of new cases per capita over the past two weeks in the U.S., according to USA Today. Only 39.4 percent of its residents are fully vaccinated.

Mississippi is also seeing spikes in COVID-19 infections, which increased by nearly 15 percent in June. The state has the lowest vaccination rate in the country, with only 31 percent of its residents fully inoculated.

According to officials cited by USA Today, approximately 95 percent of those hospitalized in Mississippi have been unvaccinated.
If only there was a common theme here. :jbhmm:

Ah well I'm sure it's all completely coincidental. :manny:

here's another pattern

Britain WON'T return to normal until at least spring, Chris Whitty warns
  • England's chief medical officer hinted that some Covid curbs may have to be rolled back later this year
  • Professor Whitty also said he anticipated that the UK won't return to the 'status quo' until next spring
  • Covid hospital admissions are expected to rise in the weeks and months after Freedom Day of July 19
Britain will not return to a pre-pandemic normal this year even though ministers are pressing ahead with Freedom Day, Chris Whitty warned today.

England's chief medical officer hinted that some curbs may have to be rolled back later this year when the NHS faces a 'difficult winter'.

But, in a glimmer of hope, Professor Whitty claimed he anticipated that the UK could return to the 'status quo' by next spring. However, he admitted that he would be 'surprised' if British life managed to return to pre-Covid normality before then.

Covid hospital admissions are expected to rise in the weeks and months after July 19, when all social distancing measures are due to be lifted in England.

Officials are also bracing for a rise in other respiratory illnesses that have been suppressed by lockdown measures during the pandemic.

But it's hoped that enough people will have been vaccinated or protected due to prior infection by next spring that the virus can no longer surge.
