This always reminds me of the "But I'm a good drunk driver so it won't matter" argument. At the end of the day, if you are doing something that has an above chance in ending in disaster, it is safe to assume your contemporaries are engaging in similar behavior and so you are under-representing your chance of ruin because you are only accounting for yourself.
IOW, if you find it socially acceptable to drive drunk, others around you will likely reach similar conclusions and so you are missing half the risk when you only account for your own actions.
I'm not a drinker really. But where i'm at i'm not seeing as much people bunched up together as much as they say it is, unless it's the night life or something but that is something i do not partake in. Safety protocols are still in place, stores still requiring to wear masks and keep distance from one another. Every one in my household still wears masks and two of them have been vaccinated.
