Not sad, dishonest. Especially as it does nothing to stop the spread of Covid.

We are using the vaccine as a means of getting back to normal when the truth is, normal is gone. Living with Covid is the new normal.

Living with covid vaccines is also the new normal. Living with tests and masks is also the new normal.

The only question is as you posted, should vaccinated people be treated the same (or WORSE) than un-vaccinated people.

The vaccine isn't a burden, it's the smart thing to do. Anyone who is upset because they are vaccinated and still need to take a PCR test is operating from a place of ignorance.

That's the problem. These vaccine exemptions are creating pockets of ignorance where attitudes to Covid and its spread are being ignored.

IMO its incentivising getting the shots, I didn't appreciate getting any tests vaxxed or not but since I work for someone I can quit or do what they tell me to do.

And why should it be weekly? Shouldn't it be at least 2 times a day? Maybe if your on vacay you need a clean test before you come back to work. Tests won't be free for long so would that be a job expense or a personal one?

You didn't ask me, but I definitely don't think vaccinated people should be treated the same an unvaccinated people. I'm tired of this shyt and I had way more empathy for unvaccinated people back when I thought we'd still have enough people get vaccinated to prevent variants from blowing up.

I mean I'll always feel bad for people that can't get vaccinated due to immune system issues or if they aren't eligible. But everyone else that's just choosing to not get vaccinated? I'm annoyed that I did everything asked of me, included getting vaxxed, and they didn't, and they're likely living more carefree than I am.

I'm all for vaccine mandates at this point for jobs, to eat inside, etc. fukk it. I want as many people vaccinated as possible, and I have no issues with normal life (or whatever the new normal is as possible) being reserved for people that are doing the most they can to help society and their fellow citizens.

If employers don't want to hire people that aren't vaxxed, or concerts and restaurants don't want to let them inside, then I'm all for that at this point. I'm for anything to incentivize vaccinations as long as it's legal.

Could you imagine the outrage here?

Let them be outraged. I'm all for this in the U.S. I've finally hit the tipping point where I'm willing to compromise a little bit of my values on personal choice in order to benefit society. And I mean I was a kid yelling about red light cameras back in the early 2000's and how they were going to be the start of everyone losing their privacy. But I've finally reached a point where I'm so sick of this that I want as many people vaxxed as possible.

Now that it's just so obvious how contagious Delta is, and how effective and not risky the vaccine is, I want as much societal pressure on unvaccinated people as possible.

Make it make sense to me.

If both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated can spread Covid, why are only the unvaccinated being tested?
Well one aspect that I believe is being overlooked is the financial burden covered by the employer for unvaccinated vs vaccinated.

AFAIK, the rate of spread between vaccinated and unvaccinated is somewhat inconclusive at the moment (although reportedly less viral load amongst the vaccinated) but what is not up for debate are the health outcomes.

If an employer's productivity gets hit because of paid/unpaid sick leave, increased medical claimaints, and/or increased turnover due to current employees with strong reactions (or death) due to Covid19, it's in their best interest to force unhealthy decision-makers to jump through more hoops to engage in unhealthy behavior.

If unvaxxed people are more likely to end up in the hospital or dead, then any company that is interested in their profits would be smart to de-incentivize decisions that lead to poor health outcomes. That's why a shyt-ton of companies force you to sign smoking affadavits or take a hit on your health insurance premiums.

There are multiple ways to frame it, but the way I see it, the company is looking out for itself primarily and indirectly ''helping' employees that are too hard-headed to look out for themselves.
