The once widely held belief that the virus originated in a Chinese wet market is debated, too: While some virus experts told CNN earlier this month that the hygienic conditions of the market made it prime grounds for "zoonotic spillover," an article published in the Lancet shows that a third of the first 41 patients had no contact with the wet market, including the first confirmed patient.

Maybe it's just an extreme coincidence but until we have concrete evidence of how this started, which I doubt we will get from China, I don't think this line of thinking is outrageous.

I think it’s entirely possible it came out of a lab, and also still be natural. This is just what I think. Apparently one of these labs, not far from the Wuhan market, had a job posting in late November looking for more researchers. For what? They were looking into the relationship of bats and coronaviruses, and how they can have such long life spans and not be affected by them. Then a month later, that same lab had another job posting, but this time, they needed help with vaccine research. I don’t think anything nefarious was going on, but they have no regulations, and I think someone messed up, got specimen samples on them, and the shyt wasn’t locked down the way it should have. That person probably even went home.

Trump says the states only have rights when he gives them to them. Such as its not his responsibility to ensure they have what they need to keep people from dying. But he can tell them to open back up when ever he wants because he's the president and the president calls the shots.

That is absolutely a plausible scenario but the virus would still be a naturally occurring virus that was mishandled in a lab causing rapid infection. Which obviously wouldn't do much to calm the conspiracy theorist but would prove the virus was not genetically engineered.
