"Avenatti will be confined to a friend's home in California, where he will not be allowed to use the internet. He will have to turn himself back in to authorities at the end of the 90-day period."

what a fall, to be such a compulsive and deranged scam artist you are taken off the internet like a sex predator.

Buffets were :trash: before this anyway, and they, at least not out here, make up such a small portion of restaurants.

only place that will have to worry about that en masse is Vegas, and maybe they just have servers dishing things out behind glass...still all you can eat, but someone has to put it on your plate
Those are major jobs

Golden Coral is a nationwide company. Hibachi restaurants etc.

But the larger point is that the larger restaurant chains work on cramming people in. The better performing ones keep the worse performers in operation. Those jobs will be permanently loss. Yeah, Jackson doesn’t need 4 Shoney’s but those people need jobs.

The mom and pop, gentrified small restaurants will be okay. They only employee 10 people.

Restaurants would definitely work, you clearly can only operate at 30-50% capacity depending on how big your spot is, we’re just used to restaurants cramming as many people in to generate as much revenue as possible. Of course you’ll come into contact with severs, but keep them masked and gloved.

The bar doesn’t work given what people go to the bar for - to be around other people.
Restaurants need it crammed to break even.

Sit down restaurants barely run a profit when they're packed. Imagine trying to run them at 20% to maintain social distancing. :mjlol:

Chick Fil A the only place I've been out to since quarantine started here. About to go tomorrow. :shaq:
Y’all keep acting like this is the ideal state. These restaurants are doing takeout now, if they are deemed as able to have dine in, thats additional revenue for the same staff - if people want to go out. None of these crowded businesses will be “normal” anytime soon, and definitely not right after things reopen.

Most the places out here are open doing takeout, I assume they’ll continue to do mostly takeout. And operating at a percent of capacity means they can utilize the staff already present doing takeout orders, maybe a waitress or two

:dwillhuh:

almost nobody is doing takeout only here and I've been in most of the nicer restaurant neighborhoods in Brooklyn since this started

they can't get by on that

hell a bagel shop down the street is paying 30k a month in rent

Likely the difference between the situation in NYC and here in the bay. Some restaurants here closed but I’d say close to 2/3 are open for takeout and delivery. I just went and got shrimp tacos tonight from an “upscale” taqueria - the ritzy Italian spot across from it was open doing takeout
