I’m never an optimist, but for some reason on this, I am. I don’t think the US will be hit hard, but we’re reacting in a way to not become Italy. The economic damage is done tho...
As long as we can buy enough time to get these cures tested and slow the infection rate, I think we’ll be OK, at least compared to Italy.

The US numbers outside of huge cities don’t seem to be climbing as fast as I thought they would be now.

I’m sure this is wishful thinking but is there any chance that due to some x-factor that isn’t known yet, the U.S. might get hit even a little bit less hard than expected?

Anything is possible at this point, there's just too much we don't even know.

Right now we don't even have any idea of how many people already have it. Could be 90,000 people walking around with it that have no idea because they don't have symptoms.

What are the numbers like for people with no symptoms? And are they more contagious or less, or is that not able to be determined?

we talking layoffs, what about the general lack of productivity happening right now...group chat just turned into a group video call and all six of us are fukking around, including no one doing their hair, getting dressed, or wearing makeup - we looked a hot mess :mjlol:

a lot of people who don't actually work from home (regularly) are about to learn working from home is actually hard, you're either unproductive or you end up working like 7:30/8am-6-7pm because it's so easy to not log off

Yeah I been finding myself on email till 7 PM at home

Had 4 Zoom meetings yesterday

Now my colleagues have a coffee chat over Zoom at 2 PM :mjlol: going everyday till we get back to normal.

In the office I got an urgency to finish things by 5:30 PM. And dip. Barely take my laptop home unless I travel or know I ain’t gonna come in.

In a case like this, overreaction is better than underestimation.

The world, the economy, people...will all be fine and live through this. This feels more and more like a forceful change to disrupt complacency (pay attention, this has and will happen in your life). We will all be different after this.

This is the main reason I enjoy every chance I get to work from home - that and avoid the commute.

I never feel like I'm on the clock or have a finite amount of time to be productive. I feel everything is self-paced and it makes me much more productive overall.

It's showing our trajectory is steeper than both Italy and Iran. More than likely it'll remain specific cities on full time lockdown and not necessarily the entire country. But it's not looking good at all right now.

my aunt (forklift driver) is still working...and they're ignoring that 10 person rule thing....this will largely be a working class/poor virus.....i hope this hits the Yuppie parts of l.a. (santa monica, los feliz areas), they're hiding in their mansions but we gotta find a way to infect those worthless b*stards & kill em off....
