I was wandering how much of this "keep pushing" mentality is responsible for the "End of Life" management in hospitals in NY and elsewhere in the US.
I'm sure that the fear of possible litigation and the financial impact of every additional procedure on the medical bills are the incentive on on their own, but I do believe the additional reason is this cultural optimism.Americans break the ribs and make their dying people suffer during the last minutes of their life for a chance that is like one in millions.
In most of other first world countries this seems to be a medical decision just like any other invasive procedure.

During this pandemic the "end of life" management is killing your healthcare workers.
