I'm inclined to think the parents are being selfish and miss the days where they could offload their kids to underpaid teachers for 8 hours a day... But then again I don't have kids. There may be something I'm missing here.

keeping schools open racked up more cases, they got their numbers down once or twice and reopened, numbers shot up again, my cell is about to die but it was pretty well covered

Registered for the vaccination in Chicago. Said I was in group #2 based of the questionnaire form I completed.

Looks like group 2 won’t be prioritized until May 31st at least

But I’m hoping my healthcare provider may be able to plug me sooner.

The good news is that it looks like it’ll be fully-remote work for me in perpetuity, but I would like the vaccine to feel comfortable enough to go to the gym and whatnot again.
