:mjtf:Did you even read what that tweet said? It’s like you
Ignored everything it said. The virus is evolving and might be resistant. Take that chance if you want, but don’t cry if it affects you.
@CrimsonTider is right. The existence of variants does not nullify the effectiveness of the vaccines.

Even in the headline getting news of breakthorough cases, vast majority were asymptomatic, so proof the vaccine still worked. In the UK, hospitalizations are now concentrated in people who are not vaccinated. Same thing in Canada. Same in the US.

People should have the right to carry on as they see fit after two doses. If your risk assessment/comfort level leans you towards wearing a mask thats fine. Its also fine if it does not.

You can’t call a vaccinated person selfish that doesn’t want to wear mask

the CDC says vaccinated people don’t have to wear mask

and why would I wear a mask to the grocery store but not to a restaurant, bar or sports events
The WHO is recommends vaccinated people wear a mask because we can still spread the virus. It is the height of selfishness. :dwillhuh:

Its not about our safety bredrin, its that we can still get and spread the virus. That is what the WHO article said. It is selfishness.

With these weird variants forming, my fear is that we create some super variant that is vaccine resistant. Its not there now, but its possible.

Since February there’s been fear of a vaccine resistant variant and all we’ve seen is a steady decline of hospitalization, cases and deaths.

a mask isn’t doing much to fight the virus. Everyone should vaccinate and get back to their pre pandemic lives

the most effective thing pre the vaccine was being socially distant.

And WHO is speaking for the world. Other than Israel, no other country has as many people vaccinated as The US. WHO can’t speak for america

IMO analysis that shows the vaccines are doing their job against all variants is very convincing: Nearly all COVID deaths in US are now among unvaccinated

The biggest risk is among communities with large % of unvaccinated. In places like the US, the problem is not supply but demand. Efforts would be best spent on trying to increase vaccination incentive IMO. Keeping mask mandates for the fully vaccinated seems counterproductive to that goal, and may even under sell how effective they've been.

Israel has reinstated an indoor mask requirement too.

Nothing from Israel data suggest the delta variant is a threat

. According to Health Ministry data released Friday morning, the number of active cases further rose to 872, while the number of serious cases nationwide remained steady at 26. There have been 840,522 confirmed cases in Israel and 6,429 deaths from the virus since the pandemic began.

.
Ash stressed, however, that he does not believe Israel is facing another major wave of infections and said he hoped that the high number of those vaccinated would prevent hospitalizations and serious illness. He noted that while case numbers have been on the rise, the number of seriously ill patients remained low.

Israel reimposes indoor mask requirement as daily cases top 200

Get vaccinated and get back at it

I’m vaccinated, the vaccine has been proven effective against every variant threat

the purpose of mask was to stop an unknown carrier from spreading the disease

No one got vaccinated to keep letting the virus dictate their life

So why they keep announcing this then? It’s like :hula:I’ll just listen to my own judgement and play it safe like I been doing.

Poor communication, coverage, and conflicting messaging has made this pandemic worse than it should have been. Leadership world wide really dropped the ball.

Too many cooks, egos & agendas in the kitchen. It got me doing my own research on everything instead of listening to the news. Can't trust nobody. A whole big confusion.

I'm not gonna shame fully vaccinated people for not wearing a mask anymore. That's nonsense.

I still wear a mask in certain small businesses that still require it, but I've already gotten out of the habit of wearing every time I enter a building. I'll have it my pocket and completely forget I had it.
