The new booster is to protect against the new covid strain. This updated covid booster shot has been available for a few weeks. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment with Walgreens to take the shot because I took the first booster shot in 11/2021, and I figured my covid protection has probably waned a bit. I also went ahead and got the flu shot as well so I didn't have to schedule another appointment.
