So obviously URL, KOTD and UW are on the scene. Across the pond you've got Don't Flop. And now we're seeing the entry of Vlado, iBattle and MC War.

We've already seen the untimely deaths of Lionz Den and Grindtime.

What do you think is important for a battle league? How does audio quality compare to timely release of videos? Venue size vs. having events in multiple cities? Famous battlers vs. celebrity guests? Dimes as ring cards/in attendance vs. gutter and hungry atmosphere? I ask because the complaints about smack are in nearly every thread in the booth. Other leagues got dudes catching ball sweat to the face I think if we as a collective of true fans put our opinions together in a single thread, maybe some of the less known players on the scene will take notice and adapt, even if the big brands don't.

Also, as a side note- just thinking about Shine vs Hoffa battle on Vlado... So glad to see someone actually change up the formats and recipe. Very refreshing. Plus we focused on the MCs on not a 75 man entourage full of fukkery and uselessness. What you think about a famous cat like Vlad getting into this mix?

I'm not even preferential to one league or another all I want is

shorter, punch packed rounds
good sound quality
and the battle comes out in a reasonable amount of time
plus if you run the event proper you keep the fans from being restless and being quick to boo..

and as far as choosing battlers it's probably time to shift the focus toward the new blood. make these over friendly inconsistent nikkas have to earn their main event spots back or spend their time battling no names in mediocre leagues until that gets old

Depending on who else UW gets on that card and the overall presentation/rollout of the Hollow-Lux battle they could take a big step up, but URL is still the standard...if they weren't we wouldn't be so upset at their fukkups.

Interesting point about shorter rounds. I wonder if let's say 2 minute rounds are introduced, that means 6 minutes of content per battle. Would make an event really short and drive down the cost earnings of the battle.

Someone battles (Clips vs X) benefitted from unlimited time.

Def agree about releasing battles sooner.

I agree smack is the standard but I have more respect for leagues where they respect MCs, give them a chance to recover from stumbles and stay quiet.

Two minute rounds would kill battlerap. You can't get off what you want in 2 minutes unless you're a non stop puncher like B Magic.
