Because of this filibuster, today I found out Strom Thurmond holds the record for the longest filibuster and it was for the prevention of the Civil Rights Act of 1957 to be passed.

Do you understand how racist someone has to be to do a filibuster for more than 24 hours in protest against civil liberties for Black Americans .

shyt is actually crazy how I never knew about this part of the Civil Rights act until now, shame on me.
