never understood the hate for it…the song or the album:francis:
There are varying opinions of Forever... but is hate for Triumph really a thing? I've never really heard anyone hate Triumph then or now that is of age.

I remember the drop for the single and video being the rap equivalent of a Michael Jackson premier back then.

maybe hate is too strong a word…there was at least some level of disinterest or disappointment…the video got national play at BET, the album sold more than 600k 1st week but locally Hot 97 didn’t give it much burn for some reason

Hot 97 blackballed Wu if I am right? That might be why. Why Hot 97 Blackballed The Wu-Tang Clan After The Group Performed At Summer Jam

I’ve never heard anyone hate on triumph.

I won’t lie, I was disappointed in the album at first but it’s aged extremely well.

I think most fans expected 36 Chambers all over again, and I’ll admit the “clean” production style through me off at first. I wanted rugged sample heavy ish that sounded like a blend of all the solo albums and 36 chambers, so I was salty for a while and kinda bushed the album. However revisiting it, they’re were at their lyrical peaks, the production value has some incredible tracks (heaterz for example), and I was just too caught up in expecting some 1995 grimey ish again.
