Recently cut mine after 24 years.
The journey is unique to each individual.
What I will say is,don't go crazy with the line ups and don't retwist more than once a month/month and a half.
Locs aren't actually meant to be super neat and trying to keep them that way will do more harm than good in the long run.

I’m almost at two month starter locs, my shyts are all puffy now and I’m loving it

Not really a fan of the retwist look, I like mines wild hanging on both sides like a palm tree

But my hair ain’t Florida wick type wild, lol.

It’s sectioned neatly, locs are puffy and I can put them in a small ponytail if anything.

I was walking the Williamsburg bridge the other day ago and my hair was blowing in front of my face, shyt had me feeling godly

I’m so used to having a Afro pointing upwards. Feeling and seeing your hair move around your face is a whole another game

I would use jojoba with a couple drops of peppermint oil and a bit of tee tree oil mixed with water.
Pumpkin seed oil is also good. (Taken orally and applied directly to scalp.)
