And while we're at it, lets ban violent sports like football... an activity where kids are rewarded for hitting AN ACTUAL PERSON as hard as they can, as opposed to a pixelated image of a person that is completely non-existent.

I never said we should ban all violent video games, I said that games like GTA that encourage mindless/dark kinds of violence need to be addressed. Games that encourage the player to kill innocent people in sick and twisted ways aren't needed in a society where mass murder is becoming the norm, period. If we are going to go after guns, then we have to go after other things that are contributing to this flawed culture.
Why is blood, gore, and guts absolutely necessary to have fun in a video game? I'm sorry, but I don't get it.

Games like GTA where its nothing but sick and mindless violence without a purpose need to be curbed if not banned outright.
Blood and gore within a scope of reason is OK but the way some of these games just cater towards the bloodlust that a lot of these losers who play videogames seem to have is disturbing.
Posters like @GetInTheTruck posting mindless posts need to be curbed, if not banned out right

Yeah but then at the same time if we use that logic we can't really say anything to pro-gun advocates who use the same reasoning - "I've had guns all my life and never killed anyone"
I agree that its deeper than guns, video games, etc. But I think the question we need to start asking is why our society has become so obsessed with violence to the point where we are comfortable with it. Even with all these little kids dead, by new years nobody will be thinking about it....till the next massacre....then well just act surprised and outraged again, and nothing will change.

3D Polygons aren't the reason a psychotic killer has grabbed a gun and gone to town on a school. Games like GTA have a big fat 18 sticker on them if you're kids, cousins and young'uns are playing them then that's your problem not the game developers and not no one else.3D Polygons aren't the reason a psychotic killer has grabbed a gun and gone to town on a school.
