LOL@the reaction to this all around though. We know Punk is OK now but they were going over the other names for the shot at the Rock at Rumble. Sheamus? Not ready and not consistently over. Big Show? Not gonna happen. Bryan? They claim he's a comedy tag team act. Whatever. Kane? Yeah right. Cena is a bail out and Blandy was the only other name of substance but he's been getting 50/50 booking recently and was tapping out clean to Del Rio a few weeks ago. They're LUCKY Punk is gonna be ready for Janaury or they would of been booked into a corner again. Probably would of just scrapped the match and made the Rumble for the WWE title. But that's all for naught now.

One would have to wonder about continuity with that. Like, how can they (The Shield) have contracts in the WWE to wrestle on a PPV as a part of the main roster while Maddox (who's essentially from developmental as well) has to have matches w/ Ryback/Orton in order to earn a contract.

...guess they'd address that before booking it (if that DOES happen).

Title simply won't be defended, Paul finds a clause stating a champion can opt out of a PPV defense, or defending the title period in a x amount of days after holding/defending for x amount of times/days
