The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
Nah, heres a few differences that will work in his favor

2. He's from NY
5. People don't think he is a parody rapper
Him being from NY is a liability.... and he is pretty much the MacDowells of drill rap.

No I ahvent heard his mixtape, but his energy is very drill, down to the uncomfortably high male/female ratio in pretty much every video footage I've seen him in

Who is Que :dwillhuh: — and is this the answer to my question? :patrice:

EDIT: Ca$h out is a very fair comparison, given where Bobby is at right now.
OG Bobby Johnson OG Bobby Johnson OG Bobby Johnson OG Bobby Johnson

Yeah everyone liked that song but no knew or cared who sung it. It made me realize how important it is to have an artist name that stands out in the days of microwave media.

Nah, heres a few differences that will work in his favor

1. He's young
2. He's from NY
3. He has a crew
4. He isn't gay (as far as we know)
5. People don't think he is a parody rapper

Being from New York, hasn't exactly worked in many rappers favor of recent history.

having a crew doesn't mean anything, it just means you run with a bunch of dudes nobody wants to listen to.

Look at Troy Ave, nobody cares that he's from NYC....or could name/recognize anyone from his BSB crew.

It's not just BSB nobody cares about Troy Ave period :russ:

Bobby's YouTube views for Shmoney Dance and Hott nikka are more than any video by Troy Ave easily, a Troy Ave song never been bumped at parties or on the streets atleast where I'm from in the Bronx. Saturday night about 1 AM, I look out the window and it's a nikka wheeling out a big ass speaker blasting Hot nikka, Shmurda actually killing venues, Shmurda actually being played at parties. Young nikkas are actually listening to Shmurda.

Bobby has a better crew, some people think Rowdy is the real star, some people feel like Abillion stole the mixtape with his second half performances. Rowdy already got a video with nearly half a million views.

How is Bobby like Keef, he's more vocally coherent and energetic than Keef ever was, because he mumbled a bit in the interview? Dude was still conversing, joking around telling stories he's a lot more friendly and charismatic than Keef shyt you couldn't get Keef to say more than three words at a time when he first came up.

I'm talking from a business stand point him being from NY benifits him a lot more than being from the south in doing business. I don't remember who it was but one of the major southern artists was recently explaining in an interview that all the record label business is handled in NY and its hard for southern artists because they have to organize meetings and things weeks and sometimes months ahead of time whereas NY artists can be much more flexible and therefore the business side is handled much quicker and more efficiently than if the artist was coming from outta state. I'm saying, logistically if there is business that needs to be handled it benifits him being from NY as opposed to Trinidad James coming from ATL. A NY artist with NY record label support will do better than an ATL artist with NY record label support.

As far as having a crew, that is such an overlooked strength. Not because people neccissarily like the crew members but it helps in creating a movement that people can get into. The more people visibly part of his movement makes it more approachable for fans. Lupe recently said in an interview he wish he had a crew with him coming up cause it makes the individual bigger.

I'm not saying these things guarantee his success, they just work in his favor, especially compared to an artist like Trinidad James. As far as Troy Ave, he's just a bum

Being from the south, isn't exactly a hindrance on your career, it's not 1996 anymore... We have facetime, instant messaging, Skype,twitter... it's not like NY labels are dealing with people in a remote area of the world, it's a 2 hour flight to Atlanta.

in 2014,a crew is pretty much a collective of dudes that nobody cares about, that you do songs with.

The internet making memes of his dance, is probably the worst thing that could've happened to him... the internet tires of shyt in a matter of weeks, sometimes days.

How is Bobby like Keef ?

- His buzz, is the product of social media.... not a mixtape run, not a rappers co-sign, not a guest verse.... literally twitter and instagram/vine posts.

- He makes wild young nikka music, and that's were a majority of his appeal comes from.

- The youth have decided that's what they want to listen to, the older cats had no say in this.

- People talking about Shmurda, in the same manner they talked about Keef and GBE, the only difference is that he's from NYC

- labels lusting over him, based on his social media numbers.... not chart performance/independent records sold.

He won't get to be as big as Keef, cause he can't draw on being a byproduct of a national crisis...and doesn't have the controversy surrounding him either.

not talking about how he sounds, his mannerisms, or any of that... but rather the manner in which he became hot.

Y'all can't compare Bobby Shmurda to Chief Keef... By the time Chief Keef blew up, he had several videos on youtube that had thousands of views and he already had a local fan base around the Chicago metropolitan area...

On the other hand, Bobby gettin' lotta love here in NY and that could help push his career... I hope he does well, we need more NY nikkaz on the radio
