The best Drug Cartel movie in recent years is "el Infierno" (Hell) it's in Spanish though. You can watch it through Netflix.

The GOAT cartel movie is Traffic. Based on the Arellano-Felix brothers (Tijuana Cartel), and Amado Carillo Fuentes (Juarez Cartel)

David Ayer wrote (or still writing?) the script for the Scarface remake which is supposed to be set in Mexico/Southern Cali.. Movie will more than likely revolve around the cartels.

Snitch with The Rock.

I'm shocked it hasnt been a Pablo Escobar movie. Its not just a Mexican thing.

The dude from No Country For Old Men starring as Escobar would be :ohlawd:

They making a Pablo Escobar movie. The Lincoln Lawyer director, Brad Furman is directing it. Also THE COUNSELOR deals with the Mexican drug cartels heavy. The new SCARFACE REMAKE is centered around the Mexican Drug Cartels. They brought in a new writer to do a rewrite. heard they weren't happy with David Ayer's draft. David Yates (director of Harry Potter) is directing the Scarface remake.

'Snitch' is good example, of bullshyt characters and extremely contrived and unlikely circumstances, it wasn't offensively idiotic, but still was pretty laughable, to think cartel gunmen and rivals would have a 20 minute shootout in El Paso, of all places, where there is like 3 murders a year, is beyond absurd.

Yes, they're shook and ain't even close. They kidnapping people over here too, they got gun for hire here that would love to get higher in the organizations.
They never portrait them in a bad manner. If that's possible.

I remember there was gonna be a Rambo sequel that dealt with battling Mexican cartels but someone must have told Stallone to fall back

Or the expendables was a much better more profitable idea
