Is being a physician a passion of yours? If not, there are more efficient ways to make lots of money.

Engineers make good money too. Don't choose a major just because it can make you a lot of money. Find out what you are good at and what interests you and go in that direction.

First off, yes, you can switch to a pre-med (i.e. biology) track. I don't know if that is good for you. That is probably going to take 2 to 3 years to finish considering some of your coursework won't transfer over. You want to finish your undergraduate degree with a high GPA. Your GPA plus your MCAT score is your gateway to get into med school. Low GPA gets less consideration that a high GPA.
Second, you need to be in it for the long haul. You'll be 26 when you finish pre-med. Then, you have four years of med school. You'll finish at 30. This is not really that bad considering you have the rest of your early 30's to do your internship and fellowship and whatever else before you become an anestheseologist.

:stop: Anyway, so you finish premed, take the MCAT, and apply to med schools, you are going to get interviewed by each school, and all of them will want to know why you want to become a doctor. This is one way they weed out the losers, or at least try to. I would suggest that you contact a career counselor and try to find out what it takes to where you want to go. Maybe a medical career is not for you.

It's not an easy academic route. Papers, test and homework, you can't blow if off like if you want to major in hotel management or mass communications.

to tell the truth, the GPA don't mean shyt. as long as he graduates from a decent school, most jobs are just gonna ask what he studied and what diploma he got. not go into the details of what grades he was getting on what courses.

No. They will all questions a low GPA.
If someone has a 2.0 GPA, the schools are going to ask him or her about it. Their answer can be anything from "I partied hard", "I went through some difficult family situations", "I'm a functional retard".. whatever. It's not an easy question to blow off. Why, because you are competing with a ton of other applicants. Usually, they will put your application here if the GPA is way too low... :trash:
