how is it illegal to not disclose you own something though ??
Right from the FTC website:

"Does the FTC hold online reviewers to a higher standard than reviewers for paper-and-ink publications?
No. The FTC Act applies across the board. The issue is – and always has been – whether the audience understands the reviewer’s relationship to the company whose products are being recommended. If the audience understands the relationship, a disclosure isn’t needed.

If you’re employed by a newspaper or TV station to give reviews – whether online or offline – your audience probably understands that your job is to provide your personal opinion on behalf of the newspaper or television station. In that situation, it’s clear that you did not buy the product yourself – whether it’s a book or a car or a movie ticket. On a personal blog, a social networking page, or in similar media, the reader might not realize that the reviewer has a relationship with the company whose products are being recommended. Disclosure of that relationship helps readers decide how much weight to give the review."

yeah but where is the line drawn ? They can just say the consumers should of known they had a stake in it since they advertised it so much ? Unless a video pops up where they say they ARENT part of it and just sponsored by them then they should be fine.

PROTECT SUMMER1G AT ALL COSTS :damn: he does the betting sites too :mjcry:

at least reckful lets people know he built his own gambling site so I know hes safe, based off reading that.

but again, where does the line get drawn? If I own a club and I meet a girl at the gym and I just say "hey come out to this party Friday and get a few drinks" I never disclosed I was the owner, and now shes spending money at my business, could she sue me then ? Technically its the same theory..

Peep the vid again tho, old boy was saying "Yo check out this site I found. These guys are really cool, follow them on Twitter, they reached out to me" knowing full well he was "they". He was acting like it was a random website he came across when in reality he was the founder. He did not disclose his true relationship with the business.

He was not initially promoting the site as something he was a part of, he was promoting it as something he came across and then claimed they sponsored him so he could keep promoting it without anyone thinking he owned it. nikka was moving slimy. He didn't want them to know he was the owner and thus moved accordingly.
