Final Destination the movie is why whenever I see someone driving with materials/junk hanging out of their truck I always stay clear.
That movie is why i slap people i love in the back of the head whenever i spot an obvious darwinian lifetime achievement nominee deathtrap in their homes.

Stack knives and silverware facing point up brehs :mjlol:

You add to the fray by labeling them victims with no evidence.

The truck driver hasn't been charged...that's evidence supporting my theory.

The story says when the truck passed them the materials shifted then struck them. Doesn’t sound like it was anyone’s fault. But then again, looking at the pictures shows the bike lane is fairly wide so I’m surprised they were close enough to it to get hit. I wonder if they were hugging the left side instead of the right of that lane.

The article said the truck was trying to go around them. so i think its pretty much confirmed they were in the street.
The logs shifted due him swerving to pass. So the people in the thread "victim blaming" actually have it right technically.
You don't have to drive around cyclists if they are on a bike path.
That said, the truck is still responsible for making sure the cargo is properly secured.

these bikers are arrogant as fukk. all it takes is one little mistake and a driver can kill you. is it really worth it? there have to be some nice trails where there are no cars to go to, especially for these rich mfs, which a lot of cycling enthusiasts are.

i understand if you have to use it as a means of transportation in a town/city, still risky, but if you're out there on those two lane highways just doing it for fun/exercise, i just don't think you value your life or you're incredibly reckless/deluded and think you're untouchable.

more people are killed by vehicles every year having gone out for leisurely walks. it's not the cyclists or pedestrians that are the problem.

did i say they were the problem?

i said you are risking your life by being on the road with motor vehicles traveling at high speeds.

i don't see people taking leisurely walks on the side of 2 lane highways, i do see cyclists out there all the time though. i think it's foolish to trust the people operating vehicles around you with your life.
