Is there a way to get notices/alert when someone replies to a thread you created, without having to click 'subscribed to watched thread'?
Only other way is to check the "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply" option. But that does it in every thread you post in too. The "Watch this thread..." option is right under the create thread button :manny:

oh ok. I guess the only way is to 'watch this thread' and then later on go to 'threads watched' to see if it got upped but there's no way to actually get an alert for specific threads.

That would actually be a good function tho, so for plat threads you get alerts for them, or even album releases, it would be like having spy, but in key threads.

Go to your alert preferences, its there:

Messages in Threads
Receive an alert when someone...
  • Replies to a watched thread
  • Someone replies to a thread you are watching

but then it'll do it for all of the threads I've replied too, you see?

Imagine if we had the option to choose the threads we want the alert from. Like album threads, or platinum threads. :ohhh:

It would be like spy, but in individual threads.

I mean you can do that if you have that alert preference I just told you about checked, just turn off the other preference so you dont automatically watch everything you reply to. Then if you wanna watch a thread you made(and get alerts for it), click "Watch Thread". If you wanna watch a specific thread(and get alerts for it),click "Watch Thread".

Then you'll only get alerts for the threads you selected :ld:

ok I just clicked it.

I see the function on the top right in this thread now. damn so in order to NOT get alerts, I would have to click ALL the threads I reply too, EXCEPT the ones I WANT? :ld:

Isn't there a way to invert it, to where there was a button to click TO alert me?

make sure alerts for watched threads is checked. you get 1 alert when someone replies to a thread you're watching. you won't get anymore alerts for that thread until you read it. this is to prevent you getting 100 alerts for one specific thread.

yes I know, but I have no control over the threads Im watching is what I mean. In other words, as soon as I reply or watch a thread, it automatically subscribes, and alerts me when someone replies. What I thought would be cool, was if I had control over which threads 'I' want to have alarms on. rather than having to 'unwatch' each and every thread via the link to the top right.

only way to do that is

uncheck watch everything you reply to then manually watch the threads you want alerts for
