I mean, what exactly do they expect? Safety is first as I’ve mentioned, but I know teachers and children who have literally done no work since March. In many public school districts (which affect mainly black kids) they aren’t required to teach online.

If you are in a low infection rate area, there should be plans put in place for at minimum a hybrid schedule along with mandatory masks and other precautions. Kids can’t afford to potentially fall two years behind when they’re already behind in the first place.

If you’re in Florida or some other state where it’s skyrocketing, teachers and kids should be home but online classes and work must be MANDATED.
The low infection rate in some areas is because things are limited Once kids go to school and are playing around taking off masks and shyt infections will go up . The same dummies who refuse to follow rules will let their kids do the same . Teachers aren’t cops ( who we let routinely kill anyone who they feel threaten then ) or fire fighters . They don’t have to risk death for the greater good . This administration and terrible government leadership mostly from the GOP Led to this .

that still would have been the best route. "indefinitely" can mean 3-4 months. the fact that it wasn't shut down is the reason we are where we are.

No, they were saying after a vaccine is found...so they were prepared to wait 2 years....and there's no guarantee that there would be a working vaccine. That was not a smart approach.

Best approach is what we did in Canada and other countries. Shut shyt down, re-open slowly and cautiously. We're still 2nd phase....Texas and Florida opened everything up before we even started phase 1. We also mandated masks and just had better protective measures. Better leadership at the top. It could have been done property if you had the right leadership not all these rogue governors and mayors working on their own timetables. US is a complete and utter disaster.

Then it can’t be two fold. Teachers must be mandated to teach from home efficiently and properly or they shouldn’t be paid. I completely understand everyone needs to be safe, but you can’t sit at home and collect a check while kids go another year sitting home watching tv and YouTube.

The faults in the remote learning last semester was that it was new and instant

no one could expect great results when everything was done on the fly

don’t get why you’re faulting the teachers
