But vaccine next year they said:troll:

It's crazy because if you think about it, there still isn't a cure for cancer or aids. Even with all the money being thrown at this virus, it still doesn't add up to all the bread that's been put toward these two diseases, not to mention how many years they've been studying them either.

It’s over

I'm really trying to avoid having this resolution but...being honest it just may be the beginning of the end.

At the least humanity is changed forever. It sounds as though it will flare up anytime we do what humans do and congregate.

Right now a lot hinges on if surviving infection affords you immunity.

If not, well this maybe our flood story. Our mankind would be on the way out.

But I'm probably going too far...

I used all social distancing measures and ppe including a face shield. My grandfather tested positive back in March. I cant even cry. Just numb. I dont want anybody else to get sick around me. Yall please be safe, I know that for the people who think this is just a statistic because it hasnt touched them, its hard but these are real people behind these numbers. oh stop. It’s a serious disease, but it’s not going to cull the population in the way you’re implying.

sorry to hear. When do you think you contracted it? Any specific event that might have elevated your risk? Remember, a face shield won’t help unless there is an airtight seal around your entire face while you breathe through a respirator.

Just trying to do some fact finding here for those who might be trying to do their best to avoid it too.

So what have we got?

Covid19 topics ..

1. Reinfection / immunity storm topics.
status: still open. more visibility will come from widespread testing - incl. antibody tests. probably much more data in the next 4 weeks. initial antibody test accuracy in uk too low.

2. Long term damage - esp. for asymptomatic carriers
status: still open

3. Airborne or not
status: established that the virus remains viable in the air for at least several hours. open question as to how significant a transmission vector this is. moves in the west observed towards wearing masks at all times in public.

4. Other organ damage + transmission vectors (blood?)
status: still open recent isolated reports of brain damage as well.

5. Endemic - becomes a permanent facet of life
status: open. reports that cats can catch this lending credence to the possibility of this becoming endemic

6. Mutation risk - variants L + S + ?.
status: still open.

7. Incubation period - various reports
status: still open. isolated reports of 49 days effectivity. 14 days generally being used for isolation purposes.

So review 4 months later

1. Yes limited reinfection it seems.

2. Yes long-term damage.

3. Yes airborne via droplets

4. Yes other organ damage - transmission also via CD147 receptor

5. Endemic. It looks like it could be a possibility. Due to short lived immunity (for some) and animal reservoirs.

6. Yes mutations. More infectious but not more lethal as yet.

7. Incubation period .. pending

First dog to test positive for coronavirus after owner fell ill has died

The seven-year-old German shepherd named Buddy tested positive for Covid-19 after his owner contracted it and has now passed away after a three-month illness battle

The first ever dog to test positive for coronavirus in the US has died.

The seven-year-old German shepherd named Buddy from Staten Island in New York, passed away after a three-month illness battle.

Two vets, who had not treated Buddy, but reviewed his medical records for National Geographic, told the publication that the dog probably had cancer.

It is unclear if Buddy died from complications connected to the killer virus or lymphoma he may have had, National Geographic reports.

The magazine reported: "It's unclear whether cancer made him more susceptible to contracting the coronavirus, or if the virus made him ill, or if it was just a case of coincidental timing."

Buddy's owner Robert Mahoney tested positive for Covid-19 in the spring and when the dog fell ill in April he suspected he had the virus too.

However it wasn't until mid-May that the family found a vet who was prepared to test him.

The test confirmed Buddy was infected with the virus.

Mr Mahoney's wife Allison told the National Geographic: "You tell people that your dog was positive, and they look at you (as if you have) ten heads."

The US Department of Agriculture confirmed Buddy was the first dog to test positive for the coronavirus in the US on June 2.

They reported at the time that he would make a full recovery but Buddy's health deteriorated.

On July 11, Mrs Mahoney told National Geographic that she found Buddy throwing up clotted blood.

Just being in the general vicinity of my 1st grandma to pass she caught it from a caretaker who didnt admit he was sick smh I stepped up to care for her literally for a single night and caught it, did not have any physical contact with her either stayed 6 feet away washed hands wore a mask the whole 9
