Christmas gonna look scary, when the other shoe of this Covid economy drops.:merchant:

-Save 6 months to 2 years living expenses now.
-Invest in security for your home.

Ya know I've been preparing for economic disaster, but keeping it funky, it look like the economy going back to normal despite Covid-19.

A lot of states showing signs of recovery. Mines has barely had any deaths the last few days. Anybody dying is still fukked up but it’s slowed down considerably. We just gotta make it through the winter :mjcry:

CDC has officially been compromised :francis:

politicians, the news, & a good amount of people are acting like ignoring this will make it go away :francis: they don't care to take it seriously anymore...I mean it's blatant corruption how the government has dealt/deals with this and everyone is in agreement to just be like :yeshrug: towards this smh

the wealthy aren't struggling and know how to make the numbers look good, but the majority of people are struggling but it seems if they have their distractions (sports, bars, etc) they'll deal with these obvious problems

My COVID job getting me depressed and giving me PTSD. The dying part is easy to digest because you know what these people have been to. Tou are happy they are finally at peace.

The worst part is when they know they gonna die and they are fully aware. They cannot breathe. They are scared. They cant talk. They giving you messages for their family. They are asking themselves questions as to why they cannot get better. They tell you they will try anything. Then you have to tell them that is all you got.

A guy I gave drugs too is hunting me. Dude took the drug from my hand. At the time he was fully awake. He took it and prayed on it. He mentionned his family who depends on him. His mother he has to care for. He told me stories about how he almost got killed several times. We talked about life. He told me regrets he had and best moments of his life. At the time he was talking and on some oxygen. Then, out of nowhere, 2 days later he had a heart attack and died. shyt fukked me up when the nurses told me. He was 45.

Another one is a Spanish girl who is a black militant. She has only Black friends because she told me her Latino part of family was racist to her because was too tan. She has small kids. She was always facetiming the kids and telling them how to do this and that. She was getting them ready for eLearning. Then I heard she had clots in her lungs. She had to get intubated cuz her oxygen levels were crap. Before they put the tube down her throat, she cried and pussed herself cuz she was so scared. All her organs shut down. All of them. She in the worst shape I ever seen a. COVID patient. Now all her 3 kids gonna live with no mother. She is 42.

I am telling y all this to say protect y all selves. This virus is no joke. Do not be selfish. A strain that is harmless to you might be deadly to your family. Be wise.

Also FL is not counting anything. The amount of cases I have daily to evaluate is piled up.

I am ooen to all questions if y all have any

Just reading that made me sad. Couldn’t imagine dealing with that in person. I get sad sometimes when I can’t help people in dire need in my job and I work in banking. So I know I wouldn’t last long in a hospital. Ever since Covid hit I developed a newfound respect for anyone in the medical field. All I can say is thank you for being there for them in their last moments, for being on the front line and putting yourself in danger and for everything you’re doing to help....like other people in here have said, if you need to talk to someone, definitely do it and get things off your chest. Y’all signed up to be medical workers and while some people not making it is expected, dealing with death on this level on a daily basis is just too much. Way too much. Recently I read a story in The NY Times about a doctor who unfortunately took her life. I wish she didn’t because it was a sad story to read but if she was dealing with multiple patients dying every single day, that’s enough to break anyone mentally.

normal? how so?

No it isn’t . What metric are you looking at

Perhaps I shouldn't say normal but rather moving on. I'm expecting to see businesses boarded up, people being thrown out en masse, civil unrest, etc.

Instead I see small businesses who should be devasted...doing business as usual. I see people still concerned with the same silly stuff as prior to Covid-19.

Really not trying to be a negative nancy type of downer guy but just being realistic but you can't just look at superficial cues like seeing someone at a business. I know someone who graduated recently for example who stated that a few months ago they were looking for job postings in their fields and there were a ton of postings and recently looked at noticed that postings have seemed to die down. That is one guy but that can be extrapolating to happening to thousands of people and this slows down the economy. I also browse an engineering subreddit since that is my industry and I've read some really sad shyt from people. People were in the midst of internships and co-ops looking to go full-time getting dropped midstream. Folks talking about having several interviews lined up all just suddenly drop. This is the less visible shyt happening that is going to have cascading effects.

You may drive-by your local burger charlies or some shyt and see people in there getting food but on the other hand shyt like this is coming down the pike economy-wise
American Airlines to lay off 17,500 employees due to COVID-19 slump

I think a better way to envision it is instead of just a massive boarding up of businesses everywhere you look, if this continues at this pace, you'll see pockets of the economy constantly falling out. A business here and there is gone. The scenes I think you're imagining like cities turning into mini Detriots were its just empty due to the absence of industry is the image of the end result of the more slow and less obvious process of something similar to long-term bleeding. That is an image of a possibility several years out, if things don't turn around.

You know how many people there are that give politicians plenty of evidence that the average American is dumb as fukk? :usure:

That is what is frustrating about this. For every rational and fairly informed person out there, there are 5 ignorant dumbasses who can tell you every detail about the Meg the stallion and tory lanes saga but have not a single idea what the fukk is going on as it relates to this
. :sadcam:
Tbh the whole trump presidency shows this .
