swedens public health agency website shows the data only in swedish

Experience

"Avlidna per dag" is deaths per day.. it's very low but not zero in the last 7 days.

We'd prolly be better off making a move to ban facebook rather than tik tok lol.

Look at this dumb shyt I came across in comments today:

This idiot responds to a post stating the death toll (around 180k in the OP).

His response goes:

"Straight off of the CDC website..."

He later goes on to tell everyone in the comments to "spread truth not fear".

I couldn't resist ethering his ass with a simple gif:

The internet is gonna be the bane of our existence brehs. As someone who works in tech and can see the various levels of technical savviness of everyday people and the vulnerability of older people on the web...shyt scary

The issue isn't the internet, the issue is social media...

Social media started off as a means to keep people connected but it has mutated into one big weaponized cesspool of the stupidest people on the planet...

Common sense does not exist on any of these social media platforms, you have the absolute worst of the worst from BOTH sides going at each others throats...

Literally NOTHING of value has been gained from this dumpster fire known as social media...It's easily turned out to be mankinds WOAT invention...

Nothing that has a large group of people together will happen this year. There is no chance. Probably not even happening next year either without some big changes. Folk still thinking one day we'll hit a switch and things will be back to normal. Nah, your way of life has changed and will be that way for a long time...consider it over actually since you will now have a new way of life. You will look back at the past and see how you took so much shyt for granted. me too.

:childplease:Speak for yourself.

Notice the face masks? That's from today.

We even had a Pride block party which is basically what happens after every Pride march end in fukkery:

Every year people are in the Village until 1-2am getting drunk after the parade. They just didn't have the actual parade this year. No outbreaks traced to this so we'll see what the future holds, specifically if the Halloween parade is green lighted.

India is now behind the U.S. in COVID-19 cases

NPR Choice page

India's recorded coronavirus case total has surpassed that of Brazil, making India the second worst-affected country in the world after the United States.

India overtook Brazil on Monday after registering 90,802 fresh cases — the highest single-day increase any country has recorded so far during the pandemic. India's total cases are now more than 4.2 million.

The caseload is lower than that of the U.S. by about 2 million but India is where the virus is spreading at the fastest pace. For about a month, India has been recording the largest number of new cases of any country.

About 1,000 people are dying every day in India after testing positive for the coronavirus. The country's total COVID-19 death toll is 71,642 — the third highest in the world after the U.S. and Brazil. India's coronavirus mortality rate of 1.7% is among the lowest of the worst-hit countries. But only about one in five deaths in India is medically certified so COVID-19 deaths could be substantially under-counted.
