Gross oversimplification. There’s no way of knowing who will be affected worst. You can use reasonable estimate based on evidence but there will always be outliers. I’ve seen outliers. Why gamble? Not to mention even those who never were hospitalized but still got sick enough and took a while to recover.

According to the same study, in context, those figures still mean that those vaccinated have a 96% efficacy rate against hospitalization and death.

Only a 4% chance of being hospitalized or dying.

Which is consistent with the initial findings and actually 2% higher than the initial 94% projection.

Those are two completely unrelated and separate slides/pieces of info.

Read the study linked as a reference to the 96% efficacy rate line you're talking about. The study is on 166 hospitalizations out of 14,000+ Delta positive cases (and the actual efficacy rate against hospitalization in that study was 94%, not 96). So out of the 166 ppl hospitalized in that study, 10 of them were fully vaxed.

Next slide I'm referring to is totally unrelated. That's amount of hospitalized deaths total reported to COVID-NET (Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)-Associated Hospitalization Surveillance Network).

My daughter school had started some summer "catch up" classes, she only went for 2 days. Started coughing this morning, positive Covid test .


She is the first person in my immediate family to get Covid. She feels ok though, I hope this is as bad as it gets for her.

Exactly. And it’s partially the government’s fault. They knew people wanted to ditch restrictions and were just waiting for a excuse to do so.

They made it seem like one you got the vax you were in the clear. I did not fall for that but I know plenty who did. I know people who were the most pro vax people you would ever meet. They celebrated their FIRST vax shot by ditching their masks and promptly caught Covid


At the end of the day personal accountability is paramount. But so many Americans are stupid and need their hand held like a child through this

But I'm reading this CDC report and in it they state 15% of hospitalized COVID deaths were among fully vaccinated people
