A mask can help but if someone in your inner circle gets COVID and you're constantly exposed to them you'll probably catch it before you even know they have it.
Going to the grocery store and such places is a brief limited exposure in comparison.

Just found out my dumbass aunt secretly went and got the vaccine the other day.
She been trying to keep it a secret cause she don't wanna admit to the family that she was wrong.

Good for her at least she came to her senses. Glad I did as well, fully vaxxed but still keeping my mask on.

The misinformation machine had a great strategy.
They first claimed that black people are naturally resistant (look at Nigeria).
Then planted the seeds that a vaccine would be Tuskegee 2.0 because of point one.
By the time they realized point 1 wasn't true they'd radicalized themselves by doing their "own research."
I have numerous co workers that still won't take the vaccine, because they think that vitamin D pills can cure them. One of them got hit with COVID, and was out for an entire month. And he was on that supreme health diet.

That just like my uncle and his current (3rd) wife. Both got hospitalized and hooked onto oxygen because of the anti-vaxx beliefs in the church they in (Florida).
this is a real convo we need to have, smh. how are y'all preparing for worst outcomes with friends, family, loved ones? i realized from jump how futile it'd be to try and sway those close to me towards getting vaccinated. but it's not like the Trump loving, science hating dumbasses getting awards in the HCA subreddit, these are people close to us with great qualities who typically have real concern and empathy for other folks...

Yeah I agree. As much as my grown ass shakes my head at these kids I can’t imagine trying to be the only sensible kid on a college campus when everyone else is having fun. Plus these kids were robbed of a year of on campus experience. Nothing will change unless schools shut things down.

I just got back from picking up Bojangles for lunch; drive thru line was too long and ain't feel like waiting. So I went in, big ol sign in the front saying masks are required for entry. It’s a lot to ask minimum wage store employees to enforce that shyt. Especially when these crazy people will spaz out because of a simple request. I’m noticing a lot of fast food spots shutting down their inside services and forcing everyone to the drive thru as a result. If the government/law enforcement isn’t enforcing it then the rule might as well not exist.
