So for all y’all “STAY AT HOME FOLKS” what’s y’all endgame...flattening the curve and not overbearing the healthcare system got to be the only goal...BUT that ain’t gne stop the virus if we being real. The stay at home initiative isn’t there to stop the loss of life from the virus...it’s their to prevent the unnecessary loss of life due to the strain of the healthcare system...and we ain’t made it to that point yet.

So how long y’all gone say stay at home? Until our economy collapse...we can’t just keep printing money forever..

We got to start working our way back into this economy before we have a rona epidemic and a Great Depression.

Add to the fact that there isn’t even a vaccine to this fast spreading virus...the chances of finding a vaccine for this are low if we being honest..

We can start now. But you need to make sure people feel safe going back to work. That means ramping up testing and testing of antibodies. We also need a way to at the very least give people masks.

You forget that before all the lockdown, we were suffering economically already. The stock market crashed before any stay at home orders and sports were already canceled and suffering. Like I said early in this thread or some other, I took a flight for work in the middle of March and my plane was half empty and there were tons of canceled flights. People already made decisions to social distance and disengage from the economy on their own before the government stepped in because people don't want to get this shyt.

So, if you're serious about opening up as soon as possible, you need to make people feel safe when re-entering normal society. That means doing the things I mentioned above. I don't know about you but, I haven't heard of the government looking to prepare a program to do that. They just want you to go in, say good luck, and keep it moving. People didn't feel safe before the lock down as I said and they damn sure won't engage economically with 2.5k people dying a day.

This is why competent leadership is needed for this on a national level...

US Covid-19 single-day deaths hit new record of 2300 as Trump says US is past peak

U.S. coronavirus deaths increased by a record number for the second day in a row, rising by at least 2,371 on Wednesday to top 30,800, according to a Reuters tally, as states spared the worst of the pandemic mulled a partial lifting of restrictions on business and social life by May 1.

The United States recorded its first coronavirus fatality on Feb. 29. It took 38 days to reach 10,000 deaths and just nine more days to go from 10,000 fatalities to 30,000. The previous high single-day death toll was 2,364 on Tuesday.

Despite the spike in deaths, there were tentative signs in some parts of the country that the outbreak was beginning to ebb.

Governors of about 20 states with few coronavirus cases believe they may be ready to start the process of reopening their economies by President Donald Trump’s May 1 target date, a top U.S. health official said on Wednesday.

Governors in harder-hit states – New York, California, Louisiana, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Michigan – said there was a need for more widespread testing before starting to end the coronavirus shutdown, which has thrown millions out of work with the closing of restaurants, businesses and schools.

Health officials have noted that death figures are a lagging indicator of the outbreak, coming after the most severely ill patients fall sick, and do not mean stay-at-home restrictions are failing to curb transmissions.

New York state and some other hard-hit areas continue to report sharp decreases in hospitalizations and numbers of patients on ventilators, although front-line healthcare workers and resources remained under extraordinary stress.

Officials have also cautioned that coronavirus-related death figures are likely an undercount due to people dying at home or in nursing homes who were never tested for the virus.

Who were the cats on here that were saying that America wouldn't put up Italy's death toll numbers? This is worse.

We're gonna get gonna hit so hard with this...goodness...the next two months are going to be hell on earth!

Also, if this needs to go in the CV thread stickied at the top, mods please move it at your discretion.

No the fukk we dont. Notice you dont see any billionaires or celebrities with public interacting roles begging to open back up? Even with the best private hospitals and doctors they shook to come out

The average person cant get a N95 mask. The average person cant get tested even if they show symptoms . The average person is risking their life and their family for $10 a hour. Fukk the economy

But businesses wanna play hard ball. So guess what? Ppl gonna make the obvious, safe decision to stay home

COVID-19: New Thailand study indicates coronavirus can jump from the dead to the living

The coronavirus crisis has taken on a new, frightening dimension after it was discovered that a dead patient infected with the disease had spread it to a medical examiner.

Experts say the death, which happened in Thailand, marks the first time that a staff member at a forensic medicine unit dealing with dead bodies has been found to have contracted the virus.

The development is putting professionals who deal with dead bodies on notice — this is a virus that can jump from the dead to the living

i thought this was known and is why they mass burial the bodies?
