Not surprising. UV rays kill a lot of things. This is why I've been putting my reusable mask on the window sill in hopes it does some disinfecting.

But if you're carrying the virus it doesn't matter it's summer because obviously sunlight can't penetrate your body lol.

Edit: as long as we're discussing common things that kill pathogens, copper also has disinfecting properties. I always wonder why in hospitals they don't make door handles and things like that out of copper. Given that the copper tends to have free electrons (aka free radicals) they can make bonds with many things including viruses and bacteria and in the process of the covalent bonds being formed it destroys the microbe.

Yeah, my cousin is a firefighter and in his unit they all only have two masks per person that they rotate each day. He said they were recommended to leave their spare ones in the sun if possible as a means to speed up the germ killing process.

its cause copper is expensive and can be easily ripped off the wall in turn for good scrap money
