What was your initial claim? Like I said in response to the other breh, this isn't suprising as uv light kills a lot of pathogens. But it won't do anything if you're carrying the virus. High humidity for example is a danger if you have the virus as humidity will help cultivate secondary issues like pneumonia but will help kill it outside of the body in the environment. Like the other breh said it will still be an issue in indoor environment but we will probably see this become seasonal like Fauci said a few weeks ago.

If this "disappears" in the summer, we should be using the time to prepare for a possible resurgence. Ppe production and treatment research needs to continue but I fear this government will once again try to "wish" it away and that will fail to happen.

Not surprising. UV rays kill a lot of things. This is why I've been putting my reusable mask on the window sill in hopes it does some disinfecting.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation - Wikipedia

But if you're carrying the virus it doesn't matter it's summer because obviously sunlight can't penetrate your body lol.

Edit: as long as we're discussing common things that kill pathogens, copper also has disinfecting properties. I always wonder why in hospitals they don't make door handles and things like that out of copper. Given that the copper tends to have free electrons (aka free radicals) they can make bonds with many things including viruses and bacteria and in the process of the covalent bonds being formed it destroys the microbe.

I hear ya, but this is an article from just 3 weeks ago

Fact check: Sunlight does not kill the new coronavirus

this whole thing has been sloppy with 3 and 4 different messages...I know this thread has turned into a non-conspiracy zone but got damn, what is this?

Uh... Shouldn't the concern be preventing the virus from spreading to MORE people which humidity does?

No one said humidity is perfect but fact is it acts as an additional agent along with social distancing to slow the spread of it.

Here's where I go the screenshot.

Of course sunlight won’t kill the virus if you already have it, he’s not alluding to that
:gucci:

Sunlight killing the virus will result in less people catching it this summer.

Silliest shyt I ever read. I posted scientific studies that argued humidity slows it down. Everyone then tried gang piling on me only for more studies to confirm it lol.

Humidity helps outside of the body. So transmission will decrease but there is a chance it won't disappear completely. just the flu is seasonal for the same issue, the concern is this follows a seasonal pattern. Not saying humidity is bad in totality. Humidity helps in eradicating it outside of the body but humidity causes harm when you have respiratory illnesses is all I'm saying. This is why for example, in the 1800s one treatment for tuberculosis was to send people in the north east and south out west where humidity is low and the lack of humidity actually improved their symptoms. I was just explaining the two edge nature of humidity when it comes to illnesses.

Also, we have fall and winter approaching in the south hemisphere which again why we may see a seasonal nature of the disease.

I got the mask from China today after like a week and a half. How do you tell if these KN95 reusaable mask are legit?
I dunno if this is legit but I do a fit test so I spray some air freshener and if I can smell it then it doesn't fit right.

3 weeks ago they were saying that sunlight didn't kill the virus AT ALL. PERIOD.

Fact check: Sunlight does not kill the new coronavirus
What experts say: The sun’s UV light cannot kill the coronavirus, and concentrated UV light should not be used to kill the virus
The claim holds little truth. Experts advised against using concentrated UV light to prevent or treat the coronavirus and do not recommend going in the sunlight to kill the virus.

Only levels of UV light much higher than what is in sunlight can kill viruses, experts said, and the levels that kill viruses can cause irritation to human skin and should be avoided

Once again old article. Lol. And even so many studies during that time agreed with the humidity claim.

Ah never saw this. Like I said, I was already putting my mask on my window sill to disinfect because I was already aware of the disinfecting nature of sunlight.
