The second wave also killed young adults at an alarming rate due to the immune response. I don't think if there's an answer to whether the 2nd wave was a more fatal strain of the virus. Plus back then they didn't have the knowledge we do now.

But we should prepare for a second wave coming this fall and winter. Imagine if history repeated and people in their 20s and 30s died within hours, scary stuff. I much rather be safe.

I don’t think this will happen with the novel coronavirus

The Spanish flu was a different beast. The mortality rate for people in their 20s was very high as well as people 15 and under in addition to the elderly.

However if we don’t have proper planning and preparation for another outbreak more people will die period.

I think that regardless of who wins the results are going to be challenged. And yes to mail in ballots. I don’t see senior citizens going to polls during that and Republicans will need their votes.

this isn’t why they say the second wave may be worse. It’s because, having exhausted so much during the first wave, we may be even more ill equipped to withstand another one.
