96% of New Yorkers? This is not true. An abundant portion of people ride the subway at night. A lot of places were 24 hours where people work all types of shifts. Hence why they kept it 24 hours in the first place. You think if 96% people were home that it would be 24 hours? It’s called the city that never sleeps for a reason. I have many friends who are now pissed and worried about going to work. Their shift starts at 4am. What they gonna do?

Busses are free and still running. This is literally just a weekend schedule except they're actually doing something instead of pretending to fix shyt.

take the bus ..they’ll be running a bit more

I live in the Bronx ...three blocks from a subway...occasionally I work overnight ..it’s my main source of travel ...there is like 20 people on the train if u go on at any time in that time frame ... it picks up around 530...it dies around 1230

This is not a big deal...your New York friends are just spoiled
