Just got some awful fukking news.

Moms passed in her sleep, proabably since Monday. I have no clue if it is what I think it is, but I strongly suspect it was the covid, a left over complication the docs missed or she was re-infected.

I wish I could say I wasn't prepared for this but I'm am.
A little scary how the fam is all handling mostly well. But we knew she was...vulnerable in ways she might not have acknowledged.

Not trying to lecture anybody, but If I could go back I would've emphasized that she practice social distancing, keep her mask on, wear gloves, clean her items, and minimize her trips.

And even spending hours on the phone praying for several church members....chill on that too. Save your stamina.

If you got a Mom or Pops that stay stubborn or leaving it in the hands of God, remind them that the nurses and doctors also have a calling from God to save lives.

Do what you can, even if they bark on you as their child.

I'm a nurse in PA.

The nursing homes / rehabs / prisons are having a hard time.

The place I normally work at is up to 80 cases in house, 20+ tests pending because of symptoms, 15 staff tested positive, 1 nurse that tested positive is very I'll but no longer in hospital.

The facility has 400+ beds. The building only has 28 private rooms, the rest are double.

Only one room has the capability of negative pressure / airborne isolation. However it's not even properly hooked up at this time.

And this is just one facility in a small town.

4 weeks ago I would’ve assume this was just an infection that didn’t pass but after reading the Los Alamos study I wonder if some people are being reinfected with a different clade

The headache was gone the next morning, but I had No smell or taste for 1 week. It was before the CDC announced those symptoms as the virus

If we don’t get an antibody test here soon I’ll just drive to Cali for one. I had fatigue, headache and sore throat for 16 days. Didn’t progress beyond that but lasted forever. Curious to see if I had it. Never in my life have I had a sore throat last for more than 4-6 days. This was back around the time of the super bowl. Didn’t think it was a possibility at the time as the three key symptoms were cough, fever and breathing issues. Knowing it can manifest without those symptoms quite often it’s plausible I had it and had no idea that’s what it was

Yea she haven't been out since it popped off. My brother lives there so he been helping out..... Unfortunately he has sickle cell but he's being very careful
