Covid-19 immunity: If you have had coronavirus, are you immune?

The Covid-19 immunity study: if you have had coronavirus, are you immune?

The first long-lead study on coronavirus immunity has been released today, from researchers at King’s College London.

The experts looked in to the levels of immunity of 90 Covid-19 patients and healthcare workers from Guys and St. Thomas’ NHS Trust – and it was found that immunity may only last for a few months.

Their research found that, at the peak of the patient’s battle with the virus, they mostly had a 60% level of antibodies. However, blood tests found that this level dropped significantly three months after this point. It suggests that immunity antibodies decrease in a big way after a patient’s experience with coronavirus, and as such, that they may not have as much protection against it months on from the initial infection.

Although the study has not yet been peer-reviewed, it appears to suggest that people who have had coronavirus could be vulnerable to reinfection.

Dr Katie Doores, who led the study, told the Guardian that people who experience worse symptoms of the virus may also have more antibodies.

She said, “People are producing a reasonable antibody response to the virus, but it’s waning over a short period of time and depending on how high your peak is, that determines how long the antibodies are staying.”

Professor Stuart Neil, who also co-authored the study, told the publication that coronaviruses in general don’t often actually provide much immunity following infection.

He said, “One thing we know about these coronaviruses, is that people can get reinfected fairly often.

“What that must mean is that the protective immunity people generate doesn’t last very long. It looks like Sars-Cov-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, might be falling into that pattern as well.”

The World Health Organisation have also stated that there is currently no evidence that people who have had the virus are protected from a second infection, suggesting no Covid-19 immunity is confirmed right now.

I'll just say....I'm in the military, and I saw over 20 people get it twice because they didn't learn from the first time and thought they were immune. Thats largely to the docs that put out wrongful info that they gained antibodies or some shyt. They was sick af both times. Not all, about 40 percent of em

:francis: I hope it isn't like HIV where it just keeps wearing your immune system down. If so GAME OVER. Basically airborne AIDS.

Ohio man, 37, dies from coronavirus after claiming the pandemic which has killed more than 135,000 people was just 'hype' in a Facebook post
  • Richard Rose, 37, died on July 4, four days after testing positive for coronavirus
  • A US Army veteran, he loved social media, paranormal, NASCAR and NFL
  • He was fervent in support of Trump, writing: 'I’m glad to call him MY PRESIDENT'
  • In an April 28 Facebook post, Rose declared that he wasn't buying into the 'hype'
  • He also made it clear that he would not be wearing a mask as recommended
  • But on July 1 Rose started feeling ill and wrote that he had COVID-19 symptoms
  • That same day he announced positive test results and that he'd be quarantining
  • He died at home in Port Clinton, Ohio, on July 4
A 37-year-old Ohio man who claimed the coronavirus pandemic was just 'hype' and repeatedly refused to wear a face mask has died from COVID-19.

Richard Rose, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, wrote on Facebook on July 1 that he was experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and went to get tested.

The U.S. Army veteran, who served for nine years and did two tours of Iraq and Afghanistan, tested positive.

He died from the virus at his home in Port Clinton, Ohio, on July 4.

They’re turning on Fauci as the infections and deaths add up.

Someone grab the damn wheel!
How exactly is that Fauci's fault when the orange moron occupying the oval hasn't listened to him since April?

My only issue with Fauci is that he hasn't been direct with how big of an obstacle Cheetos fragile ego and stupidity has been...

All these medical professionals keep trying to tap dance around the orange moron so they don't hurt his feelings and that has been disastrous for the country...

The country doesn't need ego baby sitters, we need LEADERSHIP backed by the FACTS...

I said in one of the threads on here how fukked up of a position people with the CDC are. They're stuck walking the fine line of appeasing Trump's ego so they can continue going on TV and getting their message out to the people while making sure that message doesn't contradict Trump enough that Trump silences them and cuts them out of the process. We're seeing that with Fauci now where he's gone against him enough that he's no longer in the rare press briefings and they're trying to keep him from appearing on other media appearances. And now we see they're trying to scapegoat Fauci and place the blame on him to keep the hit off of their administration.

I'm curious how the concept of masks is so hard for people to grasp. I just had a girl on my FB post a picture of the warning on one of the masks saying how it doesn't prevent Covid-19 and trying to use it as proof that we shouldn't be wearing masks smh.

What's the strategy there? How does attacking their own people fix anything? He's not even an elected official.
The old throw shyt at the wall and hope it sticks strategy...

They're hoping they can make this historic debacle stick to Fauci...

It's downright comical because like you said, dude isn't even an elected official...

This is all on Trump and the more he tries to avoid taking responsibility and his enablers keep appeasing his ego, the worse its going to get...

Its time for an intervention, someone has to publicly step up...
