One twisted way of looking at this entire situation is that covid is a perfect storm for the powers that be to push automation on the American masses. Automated teachers, bartenders, rideshare & taxi drivers, toll booths, etc... the logic will simply be that they're eliminating the risk of everyday activites resulting in infectious spread. Life will return to "normal" except that half of the economy as we know it will disappear overnight.
