:ohhh: Trump stupid but not that stupid. I understand now.

Country had two choices until a vaccine come:

1. Effectively shut the entire country down except for some real essentials.

2. Power thru and hope a miracle occur. Hundreds of thousands will die but hopefully a vaccine will arrive.

Us on thecoli.com aren't smarter than the think tanks they have running analysis and scenarios. They ran the options down to a select few and gave Trump his orders. Told him get out there and get this country running.

The economic responsibilities of this country was chosen over lives. America shutting down for a real length of time would affect the world.

On top of that, the country so huge and spread out logistics for feeding cities and towns in an extended lock down would be a nightmare.

This the only thing I come up with. America ran the analysis and simulations, chose one, and told Trump his job.

Trump definitely tried to pull out an Avengers End Game type miracle. The biggest mistake was reacting to slow to everything happening in China. Once that happened it was a wrap and he threw up a Hail Mary to get reelected. But now he doubling and tripling down on many of the mistakes. He knows his time up :francis:

Sigh...

The entirity of Europe, collectively, is bigger than the US and have more people and are collectively doing better.

Stop making excuses for bad leadership. You had that dumb Devos bytch say "you can't plan for something that didn't happen" about school reopening safely. You know how unacceptable that is in any profession? Instead of planning for the worst even after having previous experience with this and data from other countries who beat this back, you will sit back and do nothing? The fukk.

So, fukk all of that. Trump is stupid in the sense his reality and world view is severely warped. You know a real leader would think "OK. I want to make sure more people don't die, so what can we do". When he heard people were dying he only thought "they will blame me and I won't get reelected" and this is why any leadership from him is nonexistent and they are hoping they can put all the blame on governors.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I just have this funny mental image in my head.

A well dressed man without a mask tries to enter an establishment. "Nah. No mask? GTFO :camby:"

A man with a ski mask covering everything but his eyes tries to enter the same establishment. "You're A-OK, breh. Come on in. :myman:"

I hope this mask requirement that many businesses are enforcing blows up in their face. :mjlol: I might pull out some of my old Halloween masks. fukk it. Why not? Gotta have some fun in our new totalitarian society. :manny:

Not making an excuse, I know leadership is bad. They chose money over lives.

I'm saying there's something bigger at play than Trump. He was just given orders to carry out. And he's good at it. And he's going be crucified for it.

I'm saying if we see this mess, I know they see it too.

I've been in leadership positions where I'm sent on a suicide mission and I have to motivate my workers/soldiers to still do it, but we all see how stupid it seem to us.

Only thing was, they weren't privy to the most relevant info.

Here's a scenario:

Let's say our military intel got Intel this were a biological attack. That the people who did it knew it would harm Americans more than anyone else. With this info, in a scenario like that, they wouldn't divulge that to the people. They have a small meeting, come up with their plan and yell the President to get out there.

It would look idiotic and deliberate to us, with only a few key agencies knowing the truth.

Just saying something bigger is at play.

I don't understand why you are trying to give Trump the benefit of the doubt. at all. It's one thing if this was destroying the rest of the world. But several other countries have managed to get it under control.

Military leaders who were once in his corner have publicly denounced his incompetence. He's even broken away from his GOP senate in funding NIH and CDC, national health agencies. What bigger play is there?

What "bigger play" is there that needs to play out with the deaths of 130k+ Americans and the American economy falling off a cliff? It is as simple as "bad leadership"
