Just got back from a retirement church service for my Pastor (49 years)

He was supposed to retire in May but COVID-19 pushed things back.

They turned the parking lot into a drive in service. Went way better than I expected. EVERYONE had a mask on . You had to reserve a spot a week in advance because it was limited for every other parking lot to ensure social distancing. EMT's were on deck as well as Sac PD monitoring traffic. The service was at 9 AM while the gates opened at 7. There was a line to get in when I got there with my mom at 7:30 .

As for the service, they flew in several pastors from around the country to speak. Governor Gavin Newsome wasn't able to make it but they read a prepared statement he made . Mayor Steinberg spoke. Kevin Johnson was called out by the Pastor to speak (longtime church member) but he was a no-show.

No offering but They rewarded the Pastor a new GMC Denali for his services :whoo:

Also they passed the torch to the longtime Pastor in waiting , who was a Pastor at a church in San Francisco since 1997.

It was beautiful brehs :mjcry:

Newscrews were there so I'll post the story/clip
when it comes .

The Pastor and the church did a lot for the Oak Park community for decades and I grew up under it . That also includes serving as a covid testing site for months .

But it’s just the flu

Red Sox's Rodriguez awaits heart test results

BOSTON -- Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez said he is awaiting results of additional testing after doctors recently discovered an issue with his heart they believe is a result of his recent bout with the coronavirus.

The 27-year-old left-hander tested positive for COVID-19 before the start of summer camp, but he was cleared and returned to workouts on July 18. He hasn't had another positive coronavirus test, but he said an MRI revealed a condition called myocarditis that the team's medical staff felt was serious enough to shut him down for at least a week.

Rodriguez said his doctors told him that 10-20% of people who have had COVID-19 also have been diagnosed with myocarditis.

@LeVraiPapi :wow:

Wow man. If he does have viral myocarditis he might be in a world of trouble.

Myocardium is the muscle layer of the heart and if it is compromised, it can lead to heart failure, lung failures and severe kidney damages.

What a horrible thing to happen to such a young person.

That is exactly why German soccer players had to sign waivers to play in the league.

This is really sad and he may not be able to see the pitch again.

By the way, has anybody seen or heard of @Rarely-Wrong Liggins ?

I see @Atlrocafella is still here dapping posts so I will tell him one last time be careful and take precautions. You will have time to drink your beers down the line.

I got a buddy who is a Contact tracer in Tennessee. Here is the list of questions he asks from my memory.

First he asks if the person is sick. Then he asks if they experienced any symptoms by listing each symptom and getting a yes or no for each symptom.

Now here is the question he asks that will get around this "they don't ask about protest" nonsense and retardation. He asks "where have you spent most of your time for the past 24 hours". They either document theyve been at home, work, or some "other location" such as... A protest or rally.

It's not standard protocol from what I know and what he told me to ask if they been at a particular location like a restaurant or rec center. It's not standard to ask something so specific as if you attend a "black lives matters" rally. The individual must provide the information voluntarily. So, the irony of breh talking about " people in here dont know what they are talking about" while spouting totally unrelated nonsense about protests is ironic.

The "why don't they ask about protests" is the thoughts of someone who has decided to inject politics into an objective fact finding process. Guess what? From what my dude told me, they don't ask if you've been to a bar, baseball game, house party, etc either which are questions in the same vein. Once again, he simply asks if you've been anywhere besides home or work and it's up to the person to provide the information

I'm still sticking to my point. If the top people are saying conflicting information than everything is questionable. Stop trying to make sense out of shyt that doesnt make sense

This video is old and it's been covered. The contact tracers didn't ask whether or not people attended the rallies but they DID ask whether they were around a certain place at a certain time.

The only spin here is the Indian dude desperately trying to drive a wedge further into the culture war.

that commentator is so disingenuous because the anti lockdown protests also doubled as a anti-mask protest and the majority of the people at the George Floyd protests wore masks, theres literally video evidence of this.

:ehh:

I'll say based on everything we know, I'm not one of those dudes who freak out seeing people do anything different besides staying at home 24/7 with curtains closed and doors locked. I think even some "experts" have said being outside is preferred if proper distance and precautions are taken. Sounds like your church did everything right. I think unfortunately states had to take more draconian and broad measures as it relates to gatherings because it's been shown there are too many retards out there who if given the chance would sit up and breath and cough in each other faces while maintaining a foot of distance like we've seen at some bars. Unfortunate, but the idiots ruin things for the sensible.

I never asked for your opinion about me or anything so why are you talking to me? :why: You should be humble enough to shut the fukk up and know your place. If you dont know where your place is, I can help you with that. Just ask first.

Weren't you @ the park accused of showing your privates to minors?:lolbron:

I supported Bernie Sanders and support a large majority of his politics. I voted for him in the primary.

Unfortunately, this dude who is on this show with another chick by the name of Crystal Ball has decided to take the "Feel the Bern" style politics that is heavily invested in criticizing mainstream democrats (which again, in general I support) and have decided to turn it into a grift. There is a difference between the legitimate critique of democrats and where they fail and positioning yourself as always being in opposition of certain people of certain politic persuasion instead of the being against the ideas. They are typically the latter. What this means is that you'll find that they are constantly in critique mode and there is A LOT of reaching in order to steer their rhetoric to fit into that mold. It has gotten to the point among a lot of these people that honestly they start to take on the arguments and also start to take on the facts of people on the right because they are so invested in anti-democrat philosophy that they cling to anything that can help facilitate that image.

There is evidence showing that a lot of BLM protests were not as much a cause for spikes as much as people hanging out inside of enclosed bars and restaurants with recirculated air. Conservatives don't accept this because it doesn't fit their world view but unfortunately, again due to the reasons above, you got this Indian dude also practicing the same skepticism when again, the evidence isn't there to show that they are causes of major outbreaks and if you sat down and thought it out it actually makes sense why OUTDOOR protests are less infectious than INDOOR sitting at a bar for hours on end, unmasked. As you said, a lot of these people wore masks. They are often walking around and therefore not having long contact to get a large enough viral load from people who are infectious and being outdoor dillutes aerosols compared to sitting in a building and where AC is running and recirculating virus particles. We knew this back in Feb and March when the Chinese and Japanese researchers were showing that the biggest spreaders of the virus were airconditioned areas which pushes the virus throughout an enclosed space.
