We are in this position because of the federal response back in Jan thru may. The reality of the majority of the American citizens catching Covid eventually is due to that initial response. Whoever said that is absolutely correct though. You are likely to catch it now regardless what you do. Masks will just slow the spread to where it’s able to be handled. That’s literally all we can do at this stage. Anyone pretending otherwise is living in an alternate reality

Don’t know why thats seen as such a contrarian stance, when that is the simply reality. Get your fukking health in order so you can fight it off as best you can. Obese doubles your death chances, and increases your odds on severe case tenfold, regardless of age. That’s where America is, and has been, for a few months. Does it mean to be reckless? No. What they did was dumb sitting chairs next to each other like that. But the statement that folks will probably get it at some point no matter how vigilant they are with protections is a fact. Even with masks and distance you will be exposed numerous times, and will get the disease at some point. There’s no way around it

The federal government could of prioritize reliable rapid testing that is readily available, they still can pass a measure with financial means to keep the people from having to work in dangerous jobs to survive and so they businesses don’t have a option of either closing forever now or later because we can’t just act like everything is normal and die so some conservatives can say they are sticking it to liberals

I just saw an article where either who/cdc predict over 300k deaths by December in the U.S
It took us 6 months to get to 180k...they predict an extra 120k in the next 4 months. Thats not mentioning excess deaths and the amount of people that actually did die from covid but were hidden in the stats

Are you and everyone else reading what I write? I’m not saying we handled it properly or the government response was good. We are where we are, and there’s not jack shyt we can do about it now. That’s my point. Yes, the only options are everyone gets it or we get a vaccine. For the unpteenth time. That’s it. That’s the options. So lose weight, get your body ready so when you do get it, you can be one of the 99% that kicks it. All this “well what if the government does this, what if we get this in place” is pipe dream fairy tales. That pretend world most folks in here are still living in where we can shut down for months and months and rely on the government to get us thru. That ships sailed, and it sailed months ago. Mask up and learn to live with Covid. That’s the reality

Where did I say stuff like rapid testing isn’t helpful? My point is all that pipe dream shyt is reliant on a government at the federal and local level scaling all that stuff up at a national level. Its not obvious 6 months in they don’t give a fukk about instituting any of that, or having any semblance of a national plan? There’s plenty that can be done. It can’t be done without cooperation from the government, which is quite clearly non existent. You can be off in fantasy land where testing is rapid fire results and easily attainable for the average citizen nationwide at a moments notice, and where the government is paying folks enough to live off of for the duration of the pandemic without having to worry about work, or bills, or insurance etc and ill stick with the reality of the situation
