The people in that Twitter thread are analyzing that completely wrong. they're trying to say people are getting paid more off their unemployment benefits than while they were working.
Personally I think the people that are able to work from home are saving more because they're not blowing money on entertainment and restaurants and all that jazz.
Me personally, I'm saving 70% of my income because there's no more spending money at the bar on weekends. No more ubering around DC and Baltimore. No more personal trainer 2 times a week. No more massage therapist every Thursday. No more gym membership because I built my on gym in my basement. No more gassing up the car. I'm not buying clothes because I ain't got no where to go. No more restaurants because date night consists of drinking in my backyard and cooking on the deck.
And even though I don't have any kids I can only imagine that people are saving mad money on childcare now too since they can work from home.
