We are in full lockdown and have been for majority of the pandemic.

grocery stores and pharmacies are open. Everywhere else is pickup/takeout. You can’t even golf here (not that I care)
Damn where you live?

A complacent attitude like this is very dangerous. It's what did for India. Everybody thought it was over. There were political rallies, religious festivals, sporting events going on with millions of people moving around the country to attend them. And after a couple of months of that it just exploded again.

Until there is an antibiotic that kills the virus in infected patients, or until the total worldwide case count drops to 0 and stays at 0 for 14 consecutive days, only a fool should think that it's over

you can’t compare India to America

more people are vaccinated in America than unvaccinated

America Covid numbers have been on a steady decline since February

There is very little overlap between America and India.

They have 3x (actually more) people than us. 1.3 billion . Literally living on top of each other.

On top of that, a very small percentage (3%) of their population is vaccinated.

Refused to use "outsiders" vaccines out of pride. The shyt they were using wasn't as effective as what they were turning down.

Despite all that, they decided to completely reopen.

Now, if you want to argue the pride angle alone....in that they thought it was over and that fukked them....and say America has the same level of misguided pride....cool. But to ignore everything else around that, is disingenuous.

this summer will be the most things have been open in a while. people are eager to get out. people who are vaccinated think they are invincible combined with people who will lie about being vaccinated getting together in masse this summer could lead to a surge
Who gives a fukk about the unvaccinated? Vax up and move on with life
