There is very little overlap between America and India.

They have 3x (actually more) people than us. 1.3 billion . Literally living on top of each other.

On top of that, a very small percentage (3%) of their population is vaccinated.

Refused to use "outsiders" vaccines out of pride. The shyt they were using wasn't as effective as what they were turning down.

Despite all that, they decided to completely reopen.

Now, if you want to argue the pride angle alone....in that they thought it was over and that fukked them....and say America has the same level of misguided pride....cool. But to ignore everything else around that, is disingenuous.

Fred.

Fair. My point is that nobody should think it's over. You might have a 10 point lead with a minute to go, but if you let your guard down you can still lose the game. It isn't over until its over

I'm in AA County. Howard dropped it also but most businesses are still asking for it. I'm speaking of trips to Costco and Giant specifically...and liquor stores.

Gotcha gotcha.

I was at whole foods in Columbia and the gas station near me on Saturday and all of the customers were still masked up.

Then on Sunday I had crabs outdoors at Timbuktu but restaurants are a little different

Bear with me brehs:

The Red Cross has been doing antibody testing for a while as an incentive to donate blood. They have updated the test where it can show if the antibodies are circulating from a vaccine perspective.

African Americans depend on blood transfusions a lot due to sickle cell and they test for that trait as well.

Something to think about that could help people and give you free test results.

You seem to believe that any new mutation that arises will be defeated by the current vaccine, whats the basis for this belief?
And you seem to believe they won’t be, when they have destroyed every variant Thus far. What’s the basis for that belief? Who’s basing their opinion on actual real world data between the 2 of us?

Only time I dont wear a mask is when I’m at the barbershop getting my shape up. I doubt I’m gonna get the vaccine, but I’m not gonna be a idiot about it at the same time. Still masking up, still washing hands frequently, still sanitizing my work stations and everything else. I could get vacc’d tomorrow and I’ll still be wearing my masking in public. Like others said, until the infected and death numbers are close to zero, we are still in a pandemic that should be taken seriously in my eyes.

this is the prototypical right wing, “people are asking!” “They’re saying!” “I’m not saying it but people are saying it!” “Questions” that only exists to muddy the water.
The vaccine is safe. Get it and move on with your life or don’t. The rest of us shouldn’t have to wait for you.

When I refer to India I’m talking a mutation taking a foothold. Is it likely here? No, but I’ll never say never

India has a lot of problems that contributed to their outbreak, which of many is their own fault
