The primary goal of masks is to stop someone exposed to Covid from spreading the virus
Also, wearing a mask is not an alternative to getting vaccinated. The alternative to getting vaccinated is to get Exposed to Covid and naturally develop anti bodies
but that’s obviously not safer than being vaccinated
There’s no data that mask prevented cases. Cases didn’t go down until the vaccinated started rolling outYeah, that was the original purpose of the mask, but later in the pandemic it was said that masks could also protect you from the virus as well. Also, I'd think the alternative should be something that was hailed as the savior of the country in reducing cases and death rather than just contracting the virus.
Pre-vaccine these sort of people would contract the virus, even if it was a mild or asymptomatic case. Now with the vaccines it'll be more obvious which of these maskless cacs are willing to walk that walk. If she comes out of this Delta surge unscathed it's very likely she got that double tap. Maybe more.

Ugliest face in politics. The face that only a wwe folded chair could violently love
Healthcare worker fatigue is real. A bunch of dr/nurses i know just over it. They being stretched thin working and seeing people die from something that we have the vaccine forThis situation is really getting dire and it feels worse than last year already because at least its more preventable this year but its also affecting the kiddos heavy. ICU beds are full as well as med surg, etc...
1. Its two fold problem for a lot facilities in not only DFW but around the nation, the hospitals that I work at, you have the high number of patients who are not vaccinated but have sars/covid 19.
2. You have vaccinated people who have mild symptoms but they have high BP, hypertension, obese, diabetes etc.. so we treat their symptoms in triage and try to send them home but sometimes because of the acute respiratory infection that is covid, it sometimes exacerbates their pre existing conditions and they have to hospitalized.
3. Then you have the variant attacking the children, some of them have Type 1 diabetes, or JRA so they are hospitalized
4. And lastly you have your regular everyday people who just need medical attention and some are being discharged to make room for UNVAX patients who refused the vaccine in the first place which are making deaths rise
I'm just tired and very frustrated because I still have patients who are hospitalized who still are anti vaccine even with their pulse ox rapidly declining. When you put all that together, hospital staff at every level is just stressed. I swear this last week, coming on this site is my only break from reality. Just hope everyone out there stays safe.
