At this point if you have not gotten Covid it's a matter of time,Delta variant went from 10% to almost 100% of the cases in about three months over here. I recovered two weeks ago,my girl hardly had symptoms,I had to fight it and was really, really sick for almost 9 days..this shyt is no joke.
i have said clearly why it (they) are not a silver bullet - namely coverage (not under 16's/allergies/5%-10% low-to-no efficacy), transmissibility+infectivity unknown, mutations (escape), higher-level herd immunity likely, roll-out logistics, animal reservoirs (esp. mink), antibody/protection duration, potential for long-term vaccine side-effects.
TBH for such a topic I inform myself from scientists, doctors and people developing the vaccines. Not really going to go in depth with it online with Random’s.
The U.K. government have announced their plan and the Oxford group have too, so I’ll just wait and see and trust in them.
as I pointed out as a risk to e-grows 8 months ago
roll-out logistics
only 31.4% of the world vaccinated and now boosters required PLUS sub-par vaccines. patent restrictions
"More than 4.82 billion doses have been administered—enough to fully vaccinate 31.4% of the global population"
"Globally, the latest vaccination rate is 37,498,680 doses per day, on average. At this pace, it will take another 6 months to cover 75% of the population." - NOTE: boosters required each 8 months according to the US. More Than 4.82 Billion Shots Given: Covid-19 Tracker

animal reservoirs (esp. mink)
not major during surges but we now know that pets routinely catch covid and that could prevent herd immunity.
"Covid is common in pet cats and dogs whose owners have the disease, research suggests."
""If you have Covid, you should avoid contact with your cat or dog, just as you would do with other people," Dr Els Broens, from Utrecht University, said." Pets can catch Covid from owners, study suggests COVID-19 and Your Health
as I pointed out as a risk to e-grows 8 months ago
antibody/protection duration
reports of waning and governments already acting to combat that. early large scale vaccinating nations now providing boosters.
and trial as I pointed out as a risk to e-grows 8 months ago
potential for long-term vaccine side-effects.
few small scale issues. nothing major as yet.

and e-grows wonder why i don't spend time going in circles with them.
time will show who was right and who was wrong
6 months after reading my stupendous breakdown the best you had to offer was "faneto".
others saying "it will be over by summer in the USA and over globally by the end of the year"
prompted by recent: biden boosters announcement, herd immunity being increasingly being called into question (which is worrying), waning antibodies.
I really don’t know why you keep quoting my post. The original article I quoted said:
Vaccines can also be slightly adjusted to take mutations into account. For example, the world has maintained vaccines against measles, mumps and rubella – also RNA viruses which are similar to coronavirus – for almost 50 years despite slight variations, and the same is expected for Covid-19.
I never said they were a silver bullet nor did the articles, I asked you the question to get your thoughts on it. Then posted two quotes about changes needed to the vaccine to keep them current.
Now you're spouting off at the mouth like I said otherwise.
If you need 3 shots is it really effective?(will there be more?) It seems like its not working like it should or it is wearing down. Fully vaccinated people are still getting it.
I'm not knocking anyone that got it, but people that don't have it yet or are thinking about it are looking at it like WTF is the point. I'm not trying to get a booster shot every couple of months just to go to a restaurant or the gym. They keep moving the goal post.
They said it would be effective against the Delta variant but people are still getting it.
The booster shot was supposed to be for people with weak immune systems but now everyone is supposed to get it?
Wouldn't it make more sense to test everyone so they can quarantine?
Vaccine is working just fine. Fully vaccinated people are not becoming critically ill or dying from COVID at +99% rate
Booster shots are not some new phenomenon. A virus this contagious and out of control across the whole planet is going to breed multiple variants. Literally takes seconds to get a shot
It’s the unvaccinated overwhelming the US health system thats the problem. As an ICU nurse in a COVID ICU I’m tired of these damn patients. Same shyt over and over again. It’s the point where I already know which patients are going to die as soon as we admit them. Ask them why they didn’t get vaccinated and they just look dumbfounded and ashamed
But Americans are selfish and willfully ignorant. Won’t change until something effects them directly. The amount of grown children thinking they’re invincible contracting covid with no symptoms and offing their own parents is ridiculous
About to be a scary fall/winter. Burn out is real in healthcare. RNs chasing travel money. shytty staffing. Poor quality providers/nurses. And Empathy for these patients dwindling
false. as it does not provide high levels of sterilising immunity and protection attenuates (as per reports) within a timeframe which renders universal rollout untenable this put vaccine driven herd immunity under threat. furthermore vaccination does not prevent the generation of further mutations.
that is not "working just fine". in fact it is quite some distance from being "fine".

Doesn’t prevent further mutations but it certainly helps. Delta is ripping through the unvaccinated. Pfizer and Moderna are still providing protection. Herd immunity is not happening. Covid is here forever. The least we can do is vaccinated to mitigate the severe illness and death risk

there is no secret serum that’s just going to knock covid out the box forever. Like the flu, this shyt will be here forever. Annual/Bi-Annual vaccinations is probable future
