Mayor de Blasio overhauls COVID quarantine rules at NYC schools, citing data from first week of classes

In a big change to its COVID-19 safety policies for public schools, New York City will no longer require unvaccinated students to isolate at home after sharing a classroom with an infected peer — as long as both students wore masks and maintained three feet of distance during the exposure, officials said Monday.

The change, which takes effect Sept. 27, overrides the city’s previous policy of requiring unvaccinated kids — including all elementary-schoolers — to quarantine for 10 days if someone in their class tested positive for the virus.

The change in quarantine policy will also coincide with a move to double the amount of random COVID-19 testing in city schools. Starting Sept. 27, city officials will offer testing every week at all elementary, middle and high schools — doubling the rate of testing in its current plan, which offers COVID-19 tests every other week.

Israel just did a study and they noticed that people who caught the covid infection unvaccinated had stronger immunity interms of not catching it again than someone who never had it and vaccinated. if you shook and think you have a frail immune system take the vaccine simple.
