Cause they live in the realm of confirmation bias. Numerous studies have come out saying that this shyt will fukk you up, numerous stories in the health care field where people are absolutely swamped, stressed and tired, numerous news reports that long-haul COVID is real and that you're not out of the woods even when you're not sick anymore... But they don't want to listen. Because for some reason, they think they know better than everybody. They think this is all some Illuminati conspiracy to hand over control, as if they even needed a virus to go do that in the first place. It's all placed in arrogance, that they believe that they're the "free thinkers" and everyone else are sheep, just waiting blissfully unaware of their harvest. They lack the ability to consider that they might be wrong or misinformed, they think they're always right and everyone else is a part of the long-con. At that point, how do you even talk to them?

Sometimes, people have to learn the hard way. And it sucks when some of these people are our loved ones, so for a lot of people, it's a lot harder to just cut them loose and let whatever happens next unfold. But unless they start going around forcefully giving vaccinations, there's not a whole lot that can be done.

And if countries started mandating that shyt, you're gonna have a lot of uprisings instantly, so that's a very slippery slope.

Everyone's so exhausted, but if there's an end to the pandemic (and I believe there is one), it's going to be because of the people who didn't give up and kept looking out for others. It's either that or this thing mutates until we're in some Resident Evil/The Last of Us kind of scenario and we all get smoked. But I'm optimistic.

If there was a plan to wipe out all the "free thinkers" in one swoop, this would be it. A masterful plan to get rid of anyone that didn't comply. :huhldup:

What gets me is that many of these people are getting their information from places like Facebook, which has been confirmed time and again to have data security issues and private information leaks regarding their users. Of ALL the places they choose to congregate. :snoop: There's a reason why it happens there often, cause people just post whatever and people don't fact-check and evaluate their sources properly. So much stupid shyt gets spread because the only filter that exists is that unless you're commenting in a group or on a page, your experience is largely going to be based on your friend circle (friends list). And we all know birds of a feather flock together, so, good luck. :francis: That's why there's two viruses going around -- COVID, and the lack of critical thought and evaluation.

And this "1984" shyt kills me every time I see it, because as much as they claim they're "oppressed" (:snoop:), they've been allowed to post whatever they want largely unchecked unless it poses an active threat to someone or a bunch of people. If it were really that bad, people would be snatched out of bed in the middle of the night over a petty post making fun of Biden. But they hear one person (who doesn't know what they're talking about) saying it, and the next thing you know, that's the new phrase.

It's not even like us vaccinated folks have that much more freedom anyway, considering a new variant comes out like DLC every few months. :mindblown:
