IMO new variants arise because someone is creating them in a lab and leaking the shyt. The other stuff you said may be true, but nobody can convincee me that these new variants isn't purposely created to lower the population.

The coronavirus has an enzymatic protein (an RNA to RNA polymerase) whose sole job is to replicate it's own viral genome.

Unlike the DNA polymerases found it humans, it doesn't have any mechanisms for base pair correctiion so it's really fukking sloppy and prone to errors.

Those errors can create new variants.

You know the funny thing about these variants is that if EVERYONE in the US was vaccinated, it wouldn't matter because the mutations are coming from different continents. And they are proving the vaccine to be no where near as effective as previously thought.

Makes you wonder why we won't give our excess amount of vaccines to other countries like India a Peru. If we did, maybe this sort of issue wouldn't be a problem in the first place.

And the US has yet to shut down its own airlines, although I'm not necessarily FOR that option.

Well there's noting we can do about governmental incompetence. White folks play this game with every major political event and this time is no different. And i'm not scapegoating anyone and there is no "we" in all this. I just live here a few hours from the border so I'm aware of what's really happening.

I'm not a politician and it isn't my job to fix any borders or set a working pandemic plan. That's what I pay taxes for - so politicians have the funds to carry out this country's business, and protecting the borders is a main component of that. Dealing with viruses they've known about and have been messing with for years is also part of that.

The only thing "we" can do is try and figure out a real way to hold politicians accountable, but I don't think many would be ready for that.

Much of the government incompetence we complain about has been the result of voter incompetence. The government is a reflection of the people. Bruh I am happy you posted this. Literally all of the doom and gloom stuff people talk about have already been done and way more ingenious ways. Everytime I think about microchips and other things they talk about, you got a phone that will triangulate your entire day, every day that you hold it. There doesnt need to be super villain plots since people willingly sign away privacy and rights to things!
