SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - Two people were charged Wednesday with the burglary of a business in west suburban Riverside.

Paula R. Korreckt, 43, and Scott D. Kizior, 42, of the 3700 block of Ridgeland Avenue in Berwyn were each charged with felony counts of burglary and attempted burglary, according to Riverside police.

About 12:20 a.m. Sept. 4, Korreckt and Kizior used landscaping bricks to break the front window of Aunt Diana’s Candy Store in the 100 block of East Burlington, police said. Once inside, Kizior and Koreckt stole a safe, got in a vehicle and drove away.

Prior to burglarizing the candy store, the pair attempted to break the front windows of another business in the same block by throwing bricks, police said. They were unsuccessful at breaking the windows and decided to burglarize the candy store instead.:skip:

Investigators recovered video, DNA and fingerprint evidence at the scene, police said. They learned Sept. 7 that Korreckt and Kizior were arrested in Chicago for a similar burglary in the 4700 block of West 26th Street.

Riverside investigators interviewed both while they were held at the Cook County Jail Sept. 12, police said. They gave full written confessions for the burglary and attempted burglary, which they said were committed to support their crack cocaine habits.

Bond for Korreckt was set at $75,000 and at $150,000 for Kizior, police said.

...i've seen how this plays out. the judge felt like jail time would be too harsh for the two, so he set them up for a 90 day stay at a beautiful resort called passages malibu.
