Kimbrel is historically good but you are ignoring how effective the Braves offense and starting pitching can be because some of the names carrying them are not as big

Kimbrel so far is
2-2 1.04 era 40 saves 50.1 ip and 77 ks 0.93 whip

if he ends with 50 saves and a sup 1 era he should be mvp without a doubt
Those numbers are out of this world, but the Braves are a really good team in a not so good division.

Still I wouldn't give him the MVP because he put up better numbers last season when he became the 2nd player to get 16K/9inning. The first player to do that was the Dodgers' current closer Kenley Jansen. All around, Kimbrel's numbers are down compared to 2012. He's the best closer in the NL, but not even better by his own standards.

I believe the NL MVP will go to McCutchen from the Pirates.

but hes not even the dodgers mvp the combination of hanley and puig is why they really went on a run
I think Hanley is the Dodgers' overall MVP, but the pitching also had a major role in the turn around. Ryu going 12-3, Greinke not losing at dodger stadium, Kershaw keeping his ERA under 2.0, the dodgers bullpen going from 30th to 1st in ERA. And I'm gonna give credit to Uribe for holding down 3rd base, and getting it done at the plate after a disastrous 2012 season. I think he's a runner up for the gold glvoe at third.

If Kershaw isn't the Dodgers MVP than no one is. Miss me with the narrative about the turnaround. Hanley doesn't get extra credit for missing the first two months.

And who do you have winning the NL GG at 3rd?

Kershaw only plays once a week, though. Hanley is out there everyday, more or less, minus the first couple of months he missed with the injuries and all.

I have Uribe or Prado winning the GG at third, probably Prado since Uribe doesn't play everyday.

Craig Kimbrel isn't even among the top 30 most valuable pitchers in the National League.

Without even getting into WAR (in which he's ranked 31st among NL pitchers, not even counting hitters), he comes in for 1 inning at the end of the game with nobody on base to get 3 outs.
MLB closer is the easiest job in sports. Just being a closer virtually disqualifies you from Cy Young consideration, much less MVP.

MAYBE he'd get a vote or two if teams used closers like they did in the 70s, and even that is a stretch.

Clayton Kershaw (who will win the Cy Young, but maybe not the MVP) currently has an adjusted ERA of 207.
Since 1973, only Dwight Gooden, Greg Maddux, Kevin Brown, Pedro Martinez and Roger Clemens have cracked 200. And Brown and Clemens juiced to do it.

The last 40 years of NL history, and what Kershaw has done only 3 guys have legitimately done -- two of them sure-fire hall of famers.
So yeah, Kimbrel doesn't stand a chance.
And McCutchen deserves twice as many votes as Kimbrel does.
