A lot of these pimp sayings that people go around saying have a very specific meaning and are intended for other pimps in the game who understand the full depth of the saying.
The saying 'don't hate the player, hate the game' is a saying amongst two officially recognized players who are IN the game with a mutual understanding of the rules of that game. The saying doesn't apply to someone who is not in the game, because you can't hate a game that you aren't in.
Two pimps have a mutual understanding that 'hoes come going' so if one pimp peels another pimp for a ho, the pimp who just did the peeling gives the other pimp a courtesy call and the two pimps come to an official understanding that the ho is under new management and there won't be any problems or misunderstandings from the pimp who lost a ho. A pimp ain't going to take too kindly to a square trying to come up off free sex with his ho or trying to 'save his ho', especially with the square talking about 'don't hate the player, hate the game.'
Pimps don't say that statement to people who aren't in the game. Pimps KNOW they are often hated by the majority of square society so they operate around that. It's a lot of funnystyle things going on in society from cats who heard a little pimping and try to apply the rules to a square lifestyle. You can't sleep with someone's wife and then tell him, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." For one, neither individual is in the game and thus there are no mutual rules that are understood by both parties.
Mixing in a little pimping and square living is a recipe for disaster. When you get caught up and go to prison for not knowing what you're doing and you find out a lot of prisoners don't take too kindly to pimps, that play pimp is going to wish he never dabbled with the game. Same thing when a family member of that 'turn-out' comes busting at you with a shot-gun or some angry trick kills a woman that you sent out there. The lifestyle looks glamorous but it's nothing to be played with and I advise the general man to leave it alone.
